I'm having a delightful day
having more time with mylot to play
my schedule is changed
I am not deranged
From this site it will be hard to stray
Don't fret for my schedule, all you
Work'g nights for ten days, I'm not blue,
will sleep in the day
not being out to play
no need to cry for me, boo-hoo
Days off will be extra I'm sure
That's enough to give me the lure
not that it was my choice
didn't give me a voice
a break from customers has it's allure
Who knows, maybe I'll get a lot done
with bookkeeping it's been a long run
been mylotting instead
before going to bed
Going through things one by one.
Of course anyone willing can respond in kind or not as you choose

I took an extra day off last week and another extra day off this week before I knew I'd be covering someone on a cruise. I work midnight tonight, but then have mon through Wed off, and work the same shift the rest of the week and next week other than my two days off then. We did windows yesterday, before work for me, and will return for a few more, as we ran out of time, tomorrow afternoon after I've slept some.

I'll never surpass in your art
Trying will make me want to f-rt
but all of this is fun
from it I don't want to run
just so I can get it in before dark

No one here has any ambition
To outdo the previous submission
We will simply enjoy
All the rhymes you employ
Than to make it a competition

Now that's a tongue twister in the reasoning. I'd like to say, 'Huh'?

I doubt that everyone will respond that way even if they're not all from other countries. I don't even respond in limerick form all the time. It takes time to do that and I don't always have that much extra time.

Why thank you Vanny. I can roll a few out from time to time. It takes a bit for me to get the right rhyming words though, and then it would take away from me getting my notifications gone through most days, so I don't do it so much.

I used the search feature and used limerick as the keyword @MarshaMusselman
There is so much old stuff to read and boy is some of it hilarious.

@rebelann I've found many cool things to read by looking at various tags, either ones I see on posts around the site, or one's I put into search to see what there might be already written.

Well done you for the rhyme
Especially with so little time
You work way too hard
But still are a bard
For you I will ring a chime

Bard may be stretching it quite a bit especially since mine don't always scan properly.

@BelleStarr If you mean it was a good first try on my part in writing a limerick, hate to have to confess, but I've been writing limericks for a few years now, and even wrote a sort of story about my mother which I posted a year or so ago on the other site. I was saving it to post here on mother's day.

I think you can write poetry fine,
as it takes is a bit more time
to come up with a few
words and phrases not new
with your poetry we'd have to dine.

Many times the first two lines come out quite easily, but then the next three take a bit of work. Have you ever tried them yourself?

@MarshaMusselman I've done a few but not recently. They are fun to do.

Some more easily than others I think. While I can start a reply fairly easily, it takes me a bit to work out the whole of it. I have to use a rhyming dictionary almost every time.

You seem to have a good grasp of the English language, have you ever thought of trying one out? THere are online rhym ing dictionaries that can help you out if you get stuck on endings.
