Extra Time Today for Something Fun

I love both of those art forms, too. I should post a photo of one of my paintings soon. Was it hard to get your slates into the stores where they sell?

@Sheilamarie78 No it was easy. because I do a small sign that is easy for me to make and it retails for around $20. (it takes me about a total of 5 to 10 minutes to do each one) Tourists are looking for something made locally. I approach a store in a good location and promise I won't put them in any other stores in the same town. There are hundreds of wineries around so I just picked a couple near where I live and they have been selling for me for years... Some are on consignment and others are wholesale. For the gift stores I do a bigger slate that retails for $35 too.

I wish I were a better gardener. I try, but . . .

Why is that? Time? Eyesight?

I've seen a lot of those colouring books for adults recently. They look nice. Have fun!

What kinds of things do you like to read?

@JudyEv I love Maeve Binchy's books. I haven't read her in a while.

@Sheilamarie78 I'm reading Maeve Binchy at the moment. I call them 'soap operas in a book'. I like some of the old classics, historical novels, some whodunits. I avoid sci-fi, and anything violent and bloodthirsty.

@Sheilamarie78 You used to paint cards using water colors,didn't you?

@silvermist I have done that, but I also sell cards on my zazzle store (same name as I use here). Some of those cards have my watercolors, but most are of my photos of the mountains and other places near where I live.

It can be relaxing.

That's a good use of your creative tendencies.

@amadeo I've been trying to paint a little every day, though some days I don't get to it. If you lived closer, I'd invite you to my painting group. Having another person to be accountable to can help with the motivation.

Stop thinking, start doing! That's how we learn and get better at it.

That's a familiar story! Once in a while, though, you can splurge.

Wouldn't it be great to have a few extra hours each day just for doing some of the things we love -- but then, there'd probably be an extra snack time and more dishes to wash!

A lot of it is practice and looking carefully.

I crochet on and off. It depends on what else I'm doing, I guess. What's your project?

Youtube has some good drawing lessons these days.
