Random Word Post – colter

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “colter – A blade or disk on the beam of a plow, to cut the sod. From the Latin culter knife.” Oh, so that’s what that’s called. I grew up on a farm and have seen plows in action. I always figured that thing was a sod cutter. Well, it is, I just didn’t know it had a Latin name.
