Your Discussion's Title MUST Caught My Attention Or Else...

Honestly, whenever I'm scanning discussions to comment on, title is a very big factor for me to click that link and continue reading the discussion's content.
If your title didn't caught my attention no matter how creative and informative the content is, chances are...I will not click it on the FIRST SCAN.
'First scan' because if I found myself scanning through old posts in which I'm quite familiar (most probably because I've already commented and/or read the discussion), I will go back to the top again and reconsider other posts.
This is just my insight in considerations on how i make interaction here in myLot.
Sometimes, i do read discussions that is too long but still i continue to read 'coz it caught my attention. But most of the time, i prefer average length post just like many other.
Thank God! myLot has no required number of words in a discussion to post! Hehehe

I like catchy titles too, but I always try not to judge the titles. I also read the author too. I prefer average length posts if possible but I will read regardless. Sometimes - I can't relate so I don't comment.

@trivia79 Yeah sometimes I can't but I wish I could return the favor sometimes when they write on my discussion.

@trivia79 You say you are young/younger a lot, Adam... Does that mean you think everyone else is OLD?!

I only respond to discussions, where the title catches my eye. If after I have read the discussion and can give feedback, then I will respond. If I dint have anything to say after reading the discussion, then I will move on to the next discussion.

@trivia79 You are so right. There are some that I just don't know what to say, and that is because, I don't have the knowledge of what is being discussed. I would much rather leave it go, than try to comment or respond to a topic, I have no knowledge of.

Thank goodness you will go back and maybe read my post anyway, Adam! I always write long posts, so am glad you will eventually go look at mine, too!
I like answering all your questions! (You ask a LOT of questions, too! Is okay, you are funny, too, so I like talking with you!)

I like long posts and I like to learn English from it...subject to my retention abilities of course. At 56 you can't expect me to be either fast learner or a person with great memory. :) Yesterday, you used stultify. :) I read your posts and comments DE...I get something or the other.

You are right. Most of the time we select to post according to the title. So an attractive title makes a difference. But if the content is too long, usually I have to skip it because my first language is not English. I have a difficulty to read so long discussion with more new words.

there are some titles that when you open the discussion, it is just a one sentence discussion anyway, that is why, titles do not matter much to me

Everyone seems to be on the sides of catchy or funny, I will prefer the straight forward simpler ones, just to keep some balance..hehehe...and why not, simple titles save a lot of time..you can easily get to know what is inside it??? Lol..
