First of all I am not targeting Britain or British people, this is only for news and information.
Hate against persons with disabilities in Britain is always mentioned as Hate Crime. It is not a new thing (Happens everywhere, even in India) About Britain the Legend of James Burke mentions a hate crime that was emerged out of Irish-Scottish and Catholic-Protestant riots. It is not mentioned properly, and perhaps forgotten by most of the people because disability is not a faith, race or culture so that anyone can remember their history this way too.
However Simon Byrne- Alexander McKay fight, that caused so many riots between Irish-Scottish / Catholic-Protestants is still known.
I would like to know, how much British and others know about this, and how they deal with it. Most importantly - How you deal with present day hate crime against persons with disabilities?

not sure why it needs defining as hate crime as any kind of bullying, violence, discrimination or prejudice to anyone should be treated as a crime period

@yugocean oh yes, I am familiar with it as a legal term - just that if someone stabs me while i'm white caucasian, hetero-male it's a crime but not a hate crime as if it makes a difference to the attack or injury or sentancing the assailant would face if caught

@arthurchappell Yes this is crime, and there is no different law either. There is different law in India, but not for differently abled/ colour/ language, but for vote bank of politics in caste form.

It disgusts me and more so when a disabled person pass by and people look at him or her as if he or she is less of a human being
