Is Donald Trump a fan of Il Duce, or just his rhetoric?

The Donald won 7 states on Super Tuesday, 4 less than he hoped for. Of course, he thought he'd win all 11 states holding Republican primaries or caucuses though that wasn't really probable. Ted Cruz won 3 states and Marco Rubio won 1. I wasn't very surprised at the outcome. Well, maybe I was surprised Rubio even won 1 state, and Cruz won more than just Texas. The results just convince me that there are a growing number of people in this country, particularly in the Republican Party, so tired of the way this country is being run by the entrenched bureaucracy that they are willing to vote for a narcissistic blow hard with a loud message that makes them feel good about hating everyone and everything that is different from them. I wonder if this was the way people felt in certain continental European countries in the 1920s and 1930s. I wonder if those people who cheer him at the rallies and vote for him in the primaries know who he really is. I wonder if they know he is a man who freely quotes Mussolini and thinks doing so is no problem. The Donald says he is not a fascist like Mussolini was but contends that Mussolini did say some cool things.

Mussolini was not as bad as they now describe him. He made a lot of good to Italy, the railroads stations are still the same he made!!! He made a big (very big) mistake and now he is only remembered for what he did wrong.

If you study the history of the violent methods he used to rise to power, and the murderous way he maintained his hold on the country, you might change your mind about him.

@DWDavis I am Italian, both my parents lived in the time of Mussolini, I know everything of that time. Can you imagine that MANY old people preferred those times than the actual Italian situation!?

You would think we would be used to a wannabe Fascist after 7 years of the current lawless regime.

@JohnRoberts If Trump becomes our next President, political correctness will start to die.

The fact that so many people don't recognize the truth about who this man really is, or even worse, that they know who he is and what he's about and support him anyway, worries me day and night.

@DWDavis There's no sense worrying day and night. We have been living a nightmare for 7 years and while Trump is all words and big mouth, the current occupant is all deadly action and executive orders. If one is Republican, who are you supposed to support? The caustic Cruz whom no one likes. Rubio whose proving to be weak. Kasich is basically a Democrat. Dr. Ben is a wonderful man but ill equipped to be president. Unless one favors one of the drop outs. Is Trump no more evil intended than some politicians I can name. You will kill yourself worrying. I am afraid you must accept a grim reality regardless of who the next president is and adapt your life as best as possible.

@DWDavis It's obvious that fascism and anything fascist is really politically incorrect today. I remember that in the 50s-80s the United States supported fascist governments all over the world to counter Communism. Just look at our support for Chiang Kai-Shek on China and on Taiwan 20s-80s. our support for Marcos in the Philippines, and the Shah of Iran as examples. Now that we are buddies with all Communists, I guess we should kick around fascists.

We're caught between the far right wing that borders on fascist, and the so called Progressives on the left that are repackaged socialists. Whatever happened to the moderate middle ground of the Reagan/O'Neill era. They went at each other like cats and dogs, and not everything they did worked out great, but they accomplished more than today's bunch of n'er-do-wells. Even during the Clinton/Gingrich years more good things were accomplished than have happened over the last 15 years of GW Bush and BH Obama.

@DWDavis I'd rather be a fan on Trump than of Cruz or Rubio. I didn't see Rubio advocate anything in the last debate. All he did was personally attack Trump.

His fans are blinded by his celebrity and deafened by his rhetoric. If they'd take the time to figure out what the man is all about, what his history is, I don't think they'd stay fans.

@pauliek If the other Republicans in the race had brought out Trump's past and the true nature of his business practices in the beginning he wouldn't even be a factor at this point in the race.

Trump is popular with me and a lot of other people because he is tapping into their anger and not being held a prisoner by political correctness.

All I know is that this is the worst of the worse for us to choose a new President from. We are in for a world of hurt who ever get's elected. None of them are truly worthy of the office. As a Christian, all I can do is pray hard and try and make the best choice from what we are giving. It's still hard for me to think that out of 318 million people in this country, these are the best candidates we can come up with? Seriously?

@DWDavis You show me one political candidate now and in the past who has shown complete Christian values. It's unfair singling Trump out.

The Christian Right has me flummoxed in their support of Trump. He now claims to be a Christian but doesn't even know that Second Corinthians isn't said Two Corinthians, and nothing about the way he's conducted his life up to this point shows the least bit of Christian values.

I am non-political but many suffered because of Mussolini. My father suffered much as a soldier during WW2 and so did my mother.

He is a danger to the Republic and the Republicans, but has little chance of beating either Demo candidate per a CNN poll released last night. Vote Blue.

@JamesHxstatic , I don't believe this Clinton News Network poll. Let's look at an independent overseas poll. Vote Red!

There are those who wonder if The Donald isn't running as a Republican to help assure a Hillary victory in November. After all, he and the Clintons are very chummy.

He's such an idiot. How can people fall for his line? At least the rest of the candidates are serious people. Do we really want this clown to be our president?

Frighteningly, there are a lot of people voting in the Republican primaries who do. But he's yet to win a majority in any state he's "won." Part of the problem is too many of the never-had-a-chance Republicans have stayed in the race too long and diluted the votes of those Republicans who reject Trump's message.

@pauliek Neither Cruz nor Rubio are decent candidates in my humble opinion. The only three with any real leadership experience were Bush, Christie, and Kasich, and they weren't ready for the disgusting tone of this year's primary race.
