It's a street food sold and familiar here in the Philippines. I'm sure my fellow Filipinos here are familiar with this. I been selling this kind of street food five years ago then i stopped. Actually it is a quail egg, boiled and peeled and dip in a batter and cook it dip fry in cooking oil. My daughter opened her business of kwek kwek and again, i am the one making the recipe for her in making the batter and i am so fond of cooking this because i love it when i dip the egg in the batter and drop it on hot cooking oil and it floats as soon as it is cooked and i love watching the orange balls floating specially when i made it perfectly round. It is eaten with fine chopped cucumber with hot or sweet sauce. image is my own photo

oh yes, it is one very popular street food here but u fortunately, I do not eat kwek kwek. Do not ask me the reason why because I do not know also. I am not just fond of them though I love boiled eggs and quail eggs as well, I just cant find the happiness in eating them. I love eating fishballs.

that's ok @rakski, kwek kwek is pleasing to the eyes because of its attractive color. each of us has our own choices to eat or not the foods that other people love to eat

I don't know if I have heard of kwek kwek before. It sounds familiar but it's not something I've had (that I know of). I try most things, although I don't really like batter! My youngest, on the other hand, will eat most things if they're coated in batter or breadcrumbs. My eldest will just eat anything! So, what exactly is kwek kwek?

@delyaj30 Thank you. I have not tried that before. I've never had quail egg. In fact, I don't think I've had any type of egg that's not from a chicken, or made of chocolate! I might have to have a try.

Yes that's good business and i wish your daughter success, but it depends on the place you put it up because that is already instant food for some of our countrymen and it could also be eaten with rice. Secret is in the batter, otherwise it would just be like another hard boiled quails egg, guess you are an expert on that already, can you share me how you make your batter?lol!
