Some MyLot Lessons

First, I'd like to thank MyLot gurus @JolietJake and @owlwings for helping us newbies -- no, actually, lazy users who'd just ask around than read the guidelines, terms of use, etc. -- know more about MyLot Peace!!!
Actually, I'm not a newbie, I've been a member since last year. I just didn't have enough time to spend on MyLot. No, I'd rather spend my time on other things because I couldn't understand MyLot -- until recently. Thanks to these wise men.
I have just observed that the key to earning here has nothing to do with the number of discussions you post, but rather, the kind of interactions you make. Lol, that's old news!
What I specifically mean is that if your response to a discussion starts to have a life of its own -- in my case, even more lively than the discussion itself -- you can actually earn without doing anything. I mean, i'm sure it wasn't the discussions that I posted the past few days that jolted my bank balance from perpetual stagnation.
Lesson learned? Do post quality responses. Better yet, make them thought-provoking. Or if you want to push it further, make them controversial -- just kidding .
So, actively participate in discussions and meddle, i mean, comment on responses. It's actually fun

Thank you for the mention! I do try to guide people and nearly always point them directly at the Guidelines and the Earnings Program FAQs, which are, after all, the ONLY true source for information on using the site. (Well, not quite the ONLY - people should have read the Terms as well!)
All the other things that people - including me - tell you are just the same information in other words or their own (unfortunately, sometimes inaccurate) opinions.

of course the Guidelines, FAQs, and TOS are what MyLot suggests as to how we conduct ourselves in this site. but the tips and other observations -- these come from those who have been here longer than us and who have mastered MyLot already. thanks again!

Well, I still strive to post more often, but sometimes I get carried away leaving comments here and there, so given my limited MyLot time, I end up not being able to post a discussion. Though sometimes the ideas overflow and I just had to post them all. There's really no definite pattern.

My discussions have takein on a life of their own too, as the comments have veered way off from the topic, but that is okay, as I am still earning just the same. I love interacting with others, and learning their ways, all while earning. I do respond and comment as much as I can while I am in here.It has paid off too, as I am making more each day, than I ever have.

I therefore conclude that my hypothesis is valid actually, i'm just surprised by my bank's performance. i've been posting discussions but not regularly, and also receiving comments but not much. but that certain response that I made to a discussion has just gone wild and so has my bank. don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining

Even though without posts there is nothing to comment or like, it's sad that posts are sort of irrelevant weak earners and that one indeed can just be a commenter never posting and out earn a frequent poster. However, everyone cannot play that game or else there would be zero posts.

Of course, we also need quality discussions to respond to. And yes, no one should free ride by way of just commenting forever and without chipping in his/her own discussion. What I'm saying is that, many writers are still thinking about the right number of posts that will help them earn more, to the extent that they'd resort to posting discussions for the sake of posting discussions. I'm saying that that's hardly the formula. One really has to participate in discussions to earn better.

@yalul070 Some seem successful here by going the mass post route. I say everyone should do what they are comfortable with and what they like.

Actually , i like to post at least once a day . It makes me euphoric when i see that it gathers responses . And after commenting back , i would interact to each one who commented and then interact with others too who are active that time , then to my favorites .

That seems to be very true on this site. Interaction is at least as important as posting discussions.

Interactions are most likely the way of life here.

I love to leave comments. However, I am not sure if leaving controversial comments for the sake of discussion is healthy. I try hard to stay away from politics, but here the past couple of day I have participated.

They have to help otherwise, the site would once more filled with scammers and violators. they were more than just the two of them actually back in the day. It's sad that it's just the two of them now, you really had to thank the lamb JJ for even taking the time to help us despite of his busy day I mean look how old he is

It is always entertaining when a discussion is hijacked. My sister and I have both been known to hijack someone's post.
