Many of us believe that the Bible is the word of God.
What proof is there that the Bible is the word of the Almighty God?
What make s the Bible different from any other book?
What proof would you give to show that the Bible is the word of God?

* The Bible tells us how the universe began and by whom and how we got here. It answers the important questions about our origins and purpose and all in the first few chapters in language that anyone can understand.
* The Bible tells us just about everything about our Creator, even his personal unique name showing that he wants us to have a personal relationship with him.
* The Bible contains God's instruction to mankind to solve most of our problems and lead a happy life.
* So far the Bible has been translated in whole or in part in more than 2800 languages showing that it a book for all mankind.
* The Bible is often given as a gift and many of us thank God often for giving us the wonderful and unique gift of the Bible.

(2 Timothy 3:16) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, (NWT)

Nothing! I am spiritual and yes I believe in god. However the Bible is nothing more than a book. Some of it might be based on prophetic or spiritual dreams, while others may have been written documentations of things man witnessed.
However, the bible is mans understanding of events that took place long before their time. Also one may note at how metaphoric the bible truly is and how cryptic the messages were. Therefore it can be assumed that it is misunderstood on many different levels.
In my opinion at least, the bible is merely a book written by man in how they perceive god's word.

Thank you but the book itself has many references that presents it as inspired by the Almighty God and that it is his message to mankind. Thanks for expressing your view!

It's like the Harry Potter argument. If the world's civilization was destroyed and Harry Potter books somehow survived and people could understand them (mostly) Harry would be God. They're just books until someone else holds them in a higher position.

@OneOfMany I don't think that is a valid argument but appreciate you sharing it with us.

Yes, it's God's ONLY message to humans. We have no other source of information about God.

The Bible - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth - is precious to Children of God. It is the Logos - written Word of God by men whom He God inspired. The Bible, the Word of God, is alive and active, powerful and awesome as it is God - coming from God.
It is our guide, our light and lamp for this narrow path and I thank God each day for it. My life has been changed and keeps changing as He speaks to me through His Word so it is more than a book to me - it is my life.

I love these verses: 2 Timothy 3:15-17 New International Version (NIV) 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I don't plan to LEAVE this earth. I believe that God has many future plans for the earth and it's inhabitants. To read more about God's plans for the earth, you might enjoy this article to read along with your own Bible. Make sure you look up the scriptures in your Bible.
What is God’s purpose? Learn when suffering will end and how paradise on earth will be restored in the future, as well as who will live in that paradise.

The Bible is our instruction book on life. It tells us where we came from and where we're going. It brings us comfort, strength and wisdom.
It's different because it's written by men God Himself choose to write it. Written by men, inspired by God.

Yes, the Bible is a GUIDE that can help us to stay on the right path to life, but only if we READ it and apply what we read.
There is wisdom beyond what we can find in any self-help book or any other book of instruction, because, as you said, it was INSPIRED by God himself.

@1hopefulman In my lifetime, I have read the entire Bible many times, but as I continue to read it, I discover more and more. I say to myself, "I know I have read this before, but evidently what I read didn't make an impression on me at the time."
So, even though I KNOW that I have read the Bible many times, I continue to read it and I continue to FIND "gems" of knowledge and I continue to add to what I already know. It is a continuous learning process and an ENJOYABLE thing to do.
Our convention is next week-end. Have you been to yours yet?

The whole Bible was inspired by God, even though it was writeen by men. He gave them the words to put down in the Bible. If you believe in the Bible, then you believe in God, as they go hand in hand. YUou cam't beleive one without believing in the other. I read mine everg day, as we al should.

@IreneVincent I agree with you. I read my bible every morning before I start working on the computer or doing anything else. I need that quiet time to read and contemplate on His word, and I do get that. My bible is very precious to me.

@IreneVincent I have one that is my favorite, and it is Proverbs 3:5-6, where it says: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Lean not unto theine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowldedge Him, and He shall direct they paths. That is a passage that I remember always and say it contunually as I do need to trust in Him more.

Yes, go back to reading the Bible because the WISDOM you will find there is imperative to know as this world continues to go down hill. All the things we are seeing in the world today, were prophesied to occur before the END would come. No one knows when the END will come, but the FACT is, almost all the prophecies in the Bible have already been fulfilled. There are only a few left that will be fulfilled in the near future.
The Bible contains IMPORTANT information on what the future holds and what we can do to survive.

Enjoyed your explanation of what the Bible contains. If only everyone appreciated the VALUABLE information contained in the Bible, what a different world this would be.
