My dog is protective of her squeak toy

I have two dogs, and the smallest one has a favorite toy that she likes to play with, as she loves to make it squeak .
She will take it to bed with here sometimes too . The funniest thing though is when I have been gone, that she will go find her toy and start squeaking it.
I have to laugh at here, as she is a funny dog, and I love her.

@DWDavis That is cute. It is fun to watch dogs just be themselves. Mine really surprise me at times, as they will do things, that I would never expect them to do. Like the little one will try to climb up my leg when I come back from being gone, as she wants her loving. The other one could care less.

@rosekiss The funniest thing is, his crate is a wire crate so he can see out and we can see in. The door is always open so he can go in and out as he pleases. When he's ready to play again, he'll start bringing his toys out and lining them up in front of the couch.

@vandana7 That is true too. Whenever I leave the house, I make sure that they have plenty of food and water, and if they don't, I won't leave until I take care of that. It is important to me that they always have food and water, as they are no different than we are.

It lets her feel comforted I guess. Does she squeak it at night and disturb your sleep?

@jstory07 Not if she is ready to go to sleep it wouldn't. I have taken it form her before to keep the pom from taking it outside, and she never whined for it.She really doesn't whine about things like that, as she is mild. I don't know she is around most of the time.

@vandana7 I have always loved petts, especially dogs. When I was married, my husband at the time, diidn't want any dogs. We had cats early in our marriage, and that is becasue we lived on a farm, but once we moved from the farm, we had no pets at all. It wasn't until I divorced that I got dogs. He wouldn't let me have them when we were married, so I made up my mnd I was going to have them when I lived alone. It is ironci though, when he comes to visit, he loves these dogs and will pet them and they will lie down beside him. It really makes no sense why he likes them now, but didnt when we were married. By the way, he doedsn't have any pets where he lives.

I think that dogs are so cute how they play with their squeaky toys. We refer to our son's squeaky toys as her baby. We'll ask her where her baby is and she'll go off looking for it, and bring the animal back in her mouth squeaking it and all happy. She even has a squeaky bone-I bought her that one!

What is so funny but the little one,is that she never liked squeak toys until I got them the toys at Chrtistmas. Ever since she squaks it a lot. I will even play with her, and pick it up and squeak it to see what she does. She tries to get it and when she does, she squeaks it right back at me.

@rosekiss Our son's vet actually stocks a lot of the soft Kong squeaky toys for puppies and dogs. She took our grandpuppy into a special room to let her choose her first toy after her first appointment. And she's loved both the squeaky toy as well as going to the vet ever since! That vet actually allows them to take a new Kong squeaky toy after each appointment-smart vet, the animals love going to see her!

Aww, that is to bad too. It wasn't until I got these at Chrismtas time, that she decided she wanted it for herself and once she figured out it squeaked, she does it quite often now. It is to cute when she does it too, as it makes me really chuckle.

@T_gray It does. i never know what they are going to do next. When they know they are going for their walk, they will wait for me to put their haarnesses on and they will wait by the front door to put their leashes on. They love their walks as it is very good for them.

@rosekiss It is nice to watch them play with their toys. Our dog didn't play much when he was younger, but today he likes to play with his toys.

@Porcospino Mine never did for a long time, but then all of a sudden, she decided to play with toys, and if they squeak, to squeak them.

Before the holidays, she wouldn't touch any toys, but once I got them gorChristmas, she decided to start playing with it. It was really funny when she started squeaking it. She rally makes me laugh, when she starts squeaking it, as she will squeak it, until she gets tired, then she stops..

@rosekiss Oh yes! Our Pups are our children, life. They are always there when no one else is. When I was very ill battling cancer ... I would become aware of our Pups always laying near, close to me on the bed. I drew comfort from them. They are a part of us :)

@rosekiss I am a 16 year survivor of non-Hodgkins lymphoma :) Skip, my husband, is a 14 year survivor of colon cancer ... it's amazing ... I won my battle, and he was getting sick while I was. Thank you for caring :) I'm so sorry about your daughter-in-law's hair. I lost my hair twice ... two years straight in a row when I first began chemotherapy ... the second time when it had grown out ... it is like it always was. I'm grateful. :)

I know what you mean. The one in the picture, will have nothing to do with rubber toys, as she turns her nose up at them, whereas, the pom loves the rubber one, and will carry it around in her mouth, and will take it ouside, and leave it in the yard. She does eventually bring it badk in though. It is just funny, that both dogs are so different.

That's a really cute little bugger. Seeing your dog happy really takes away one's stress and give you energy as well. It never fails to make someone happy.

It is so funny to see her get her toy, and start squeaking it after I come home from being away for awhile. She will squeak it and squeak it, to let me know she can, and she is letting me know she is happy I am back home again. She does go through withdrawal, but it never lasts to long, and I am gllad for that.

Cute doggie. My last dog had squeak toys, too--but none of the other dogs we've had seemed to care for them.

They really make wonderful companions for us. We use to have dogs when we were first married but now we have 2 cats. When we buy toys for them we always buy 2 of the same because our girls are jealous of each other and wants what the other one has. Just like kids!!! I couldn't imagine life without them. Have a blessed day
