Though my kids are too small, 5 and 2 but still I was wondering, what is the right age to teach them something that is not taught in school, Financial literacy. Todays generation is too smart, they make their own choices from a very early age. They know what they want and they make sure they get it. When do I teach them about basic money management? How to be generous, and give it away to the less fortunate, and still be able to save some? I don't want them to be extravagant, and think everything will be provided for coz their parents can affort it. If that happens, they won't value things. I know it has to be early, but how early?

@AkoPinay Its a discussion my friend, you or for that matter anyone is welcome to give their opinion, depending upon their experience with their kids or their life experience. Every person has an understanding of the subject, you put your point/advice forward, its the other persons decision whether he/she takes it or not.

The sharper the kid, the easier the understanding. So if you feel like teaching them something new, understand their capability to learn before you load them with new info about the subject of your choice. I guess age does not matter that much... since we have some younger kids who may understand something faster than other older kids.

Very true. Every child is different. But it is said that their brain is so sharp in the initial years that, if you teach them 5 languages, they can learn it with ease. All you have to have is a little patience.
