A vintage picture of my mom and dad

Absolutely, as that is the most important thing. I wouldn't be here without them, and wondering what might have been is just a forethought. I thank both of them for giving me life.

@rosekiss sorry for the loss of your brother too. My goodness, such sadness. But even so, you can smile and remember fondly the memories.

@TiarasOceanView Yes he is. He passed away in 1974, the day after Christmas.

@MGjhaud I do believe that too, as she gave my brother and I a good life, and I am thankful for that too.

@rosekiss That is doubly sad. It must have been difficult losing your mother when you were so young. It is hard on us losing someone we love as an adult.

@Marcyaz Absolutely. It is just a shame that she had to have cancer so young and it took her life. At least the suffering has been over for a long time now. I still miss her and my dad, but I will see them again someday, and I hang onto that.

@rebelann Yes, he did when I was younger, as he would come for supper every night, as he lived alone, and my aunt wanted to make sure he got fed. As I got older and got married, I did some but not a lot.

My dad never remarried. My aunt and uncle took my brother and I in, and raised us, so she became my mom. I will always be thankful for the life she gave me.

You were lucky then @rosekiss Did your dad stay in contact with you?

It was very hard growing up without my mom,e but at least my aunt took my brother and me in and raised us, and give us both a good life. I have since lost both my autt and uncle, and my brother, so I am the only remaining heir left.

Yes, we will see them in the resurrection, and that is what I am waiting for, as I have lost a lot family members over the years. It will be great to see them again.

@much2say I am so thankful that my aunt and uncle sepped up and raised my brother and I, as they had no childrnm of their own, but they called my brother and I their kids, and they felt like my mom and dad too. We had a good life, as they giave us everythung we needed and they made sure we got good schooling as well. I will always be thankful for taking us in.

@rosekiss My mother's mother passed away when my mom was only 9 (there were older siblings as well, and my aunt could relate to you as she was only 3 when it happened). I know all the sister siblings had a fear all their lives that they would pass on at 43 like their mother did, but fortunately they have all lived beyond that. The family was not in this country at the time, and apparently they said the doctors there could not help my grandmother's condition, which is still unclear what it was. Yes, as you said, they weren't suffering anymore.

@rosekiss You and your brother are very fortunate to have an aunt and uncle who cared for you both so much. My grandfather didn't want help from anyone, but he had to raise 6 on his own - and really he probably should have gotten some help because things happened down the road. I'm so glad you had such loving families to take you both in!!

@kevin1877uk It has been hard, but since I had my aunt to rais me and my brother, then she became my mom, and last December, she passed away, and now I have no one except for my kids.

@rosekiss Sorry to hear, but it all the part of growing old are parents leave us and we only have our kids.

Yes, beings that I really never got to know her. I have done fine though, as my aunt and uncle raised me and my brother, and I will always be thankful for that.

@yalul070 I will always miss my mon and dad, but I do know I will see them again someday. I do miss them as well. I haved lost both aunts and uncles, my brother, and my both sets of grandparents.

@rosekiss good to know that. though I'm sure that aside from you angels on earth your mom must have been watching you in heaven.

@paigea So am I. I don't know what would have happened to us if we hadn't had a good home. That is something that I will always remember for the rest of my life.

@rosekiss My great nephew has a great home with his dad and other family too. He is doing great. I raised his mom and I see him as often as I can too.

I feel bad about it too. Life sure dealt me a blow when I was three, but at least I got to know my dad, till I was an adult.

@rosekiss My parents are both gone as well, but I had them both well into my adult years.

Thank you. I wish that I would have had my mon's looks and not my dad, but beggars can't be choosers, that is for sure. I have to accept what was given me,

@rosekiss You're right about that- I have quite a few albums as well and actually haven't gone through them in a while!

@DesirousDreamer They sure will, and I will hug them as well. We will even know our loved ones when we get to heaven. I don't know how, but we will. I have several family members that I will be anxious to see when I get there.

No, he never did. His sister kept trying to hook him up with other women, but I just don't think that any he dated, measured up to my mom.

Yea, you got that right. I didn't know my mom, but my dad and I had some good times, and I will certainly remember those. I went to live with him after graduating high school. I got a job and worked as well, and he was a great dad, that I have really missed.

Oh yes I do, very much. I wished I had more time with them than I did, but I am thankful that i had some time with both of them. They both suffered a lot, and I certainly wouldn't have watec them to keep suffering, just so I would have them still. I know that someday, I will see them again, and I am thankful for that as well.
