A vintage picture of my mom and dad

I was going through some photos of my parents, and I found the one you see.
I believe this picture was taken when they were dating. I don't know how long the dated before they got married
My mom passed away in 1951 when I was only three years old. She died at the age of 29 of stomach cancer, and my dad died at the age of 54, of leukemia.
I miss both of them so much. I often wonder what my life would be like if the hadn't died when they did.

Nice looking couple. So sorry that you lost your parents so young. We can wonder about the things we missed out on, but we need to remember all that we do have. They gave you life.

What a wonderful photo of your parents. Sorry you lost your mother so young that must have been very difficult for both you and your father. Then to also lose your father how sad for you. I lost my parents within a year and a half of each other but I was grown, not a child.

@Marcyaz Absolutely. It is just a shame that she had to have cancer so young and it took her life. At least the suffering has been over for a long time now. I still miss her and my dad, but I will see them again someday, and I hang onto that.

My dad never remarried. My aunt and uncle took my brother and I in, and raised us, so she became my mom. I will always be thankful for the life she gave me.

A beautiful couple!! It hurts to lose our dear relatives.. I have lost my parents and my brother, but I hope to meet them in the resurrection. Isaiah chapter 11 talks about a future paradise and it is very comforting to read it..

@much2say I am so thankful that my aunt and uncle sepped up and raised my brother and I, as they had no childrnm of their own, but they called my brother and I their kids, and they felt like my mom and dad too. We had a good life, as they giave us everythung we needed and they made sure we got good schooling as well. I will always be thankful for taking us in.

@rosekiss My mother's mother passed away when my mom was only 9 (there were older siblings as well, and my aunt could relate to you as she was only 3 when it happened). I know all the sister siblings had a fear all their lives that they would pass on at 43 like their mother did, but fortunately they have all lived beyond that. The family was not in this country at the time, and apparently they said the doctors there could not help my grandmother's condition, which is still unclear what it was. Yes, as you said, they weren't suffering anymore.

@rosekiss You and your brother are very fortunate to have an aunt and uncle who cared for you both so much. My grandfather didn't want help from anyone, but he had to raise 6 on his own - and really he probably should have gotten some help because things happened down the road. I'm so glad you had such loving families to take you both in!!

@DesirousDreamer They sure will, and I will hug them as well. We will even know our loved ones when we get to heaven. I don't know how, but we will. I have several family members that I will be anxious to see when I get there.

I have really missed her, as it has been hard not having her around to guide me. I turned out okay though as my aunt and uncle raised me, and I will always be grateful for that too.

Yea, you got that right. I didn't know my mom, but my dad and I had some good times, and I will certainly remember those. I went to live with him after graduating high school. I got a job and worked as well, and he was a great dad, that I have really missed.

Oh yes I do, very much. I wished I had more time with them than I did, but I am thankful that i had some time with both of them. They both suffered a lot, and I certainly wouldn't have watec them to keep suffering, just so I would have them still. I know that someday, I will see them again, and I am thankful for that as well.
