I have been staying here in the Philippines for more than a year now. What I have noticed is that the internet connection in our area is very slow and it gets slower during the night because well, I think there are a lot of users online already.
How about you? How's your internet connection? Mind you, I have a 3mbps connection.

@funkeyguhl the countries of the 2 people above us are in the top 10 fastest internet. South Korea is number one at this moment.

My connection is promised to be 2mpbs but my connection is actually 100 kbps. The telecoms in our country deceives us. Countries with better economies than us have cheaper internet connection despite of the fact they have a more expensive cost of living.
There also countries poorer than us that have faster internet connections.

I know. I think most especially in the metro, the internet connection is congested just like the traffic situation :p

@CaptAlbertWhisker I know. I read in the news that these companies are actually blocking a provider that wants to provide an alternative here in the Philippines.
Imagine that?!

@funkeyguhl To make our internet experience worst. Our telecoms have damn data capping.

at the moment its doable. it gets super slow at times.
i have postpaid user friends who complain a lot when it comes to their data cause theyre getting slow connection for a monthly subscription. i guess we now have to accept that its a reality here in the Philippines.

The data connection is really pfft! I feel the same way with my home connection however, I have to also take note that we have about 3-4 gadgets using the connection.
I just hope that they do something about it .... seriously.

it's supposed to get faster at night since there's not much people using the net. maybe you should change the password of your modem just in case.

I think it is because there are a lot of people in our area (and I mean a lot!) and since they are all coming home from work and are all in their smartphones, this can be the culprit.

@funkeyguhl,Internet in my home town is unpredictable.Generally it is fast in the morning and gradually goes on getting slower as the sun goes up.

it can be because of the same reason as ours - a lot of users going online on your area which is why the bandwidth is slow.

good for you. As for us, I have tried everything - switch off devices, restart router and now, we have an ingenious idea - put an aluminium foil next to the router. It seems to be working well though.

@birjudanak I know before that happens to me as well. During night time is perfect time to get some work online done but it is a different case now.
I find it weird.

my internet in Dubai before was fast and I mean it. Even their 3g connection there was superb so I am so frustrated when we arrived here and I have to wait, have tea before the connection loads the page I want (This happens in the evening).
