Surveys at the end of Fast Food Receipts

United States
March 6, 2016 12:34am CST
I have noticed lately - many fast food places or even stores have short surveys (link or a number to call) where once you complete the survey - you earn that free burger (buy 1, get 1), free drink, free taco, free something or for a discounted price/percentage off in exchange for your time. One of my favorites is Rubios. Now they just revamped the survey website where it'll take you literally less than a minute to complete and once you finish the survey you get a code to write on your receipt. Bring that receipt back next time to get a free large drink with the purchase of any salad, burrito or two taco plate. I always do these and save $2 bucks for a drink every time! Do you ever do those kind of surveys?

Some restaurants here have short surveys (rate the food, ambience, service, etc.). I have never encountered those that give free stuff. I will gladly fill out all surveys if I can get free stuff!

But you get nothing in return!? Not even like a free soda drink?

@infatuatedbby Just a smile and a thank you. But we're not obliged to answer, so that's okay. In most restaurants, they just leave the paper on the table, and it's up to us whether to fill that out of not. It would be nice to get something in return though.

I may well do them but as yet I've not seen any here so far. JJ mentioned something about this on his walmart receipt so I have heard of it.

Target + Walmart and other stores has a chance to win $1,000 or something - those I never do/tried. But I do like the free food hehe.

My daughter is the resident survey taker. I used to but got tired of it. I took one that the Taco Bell across from us had once about three years ago and won $80.

@infatuatedbby ...I used to some what enjoy TB but now they have taken all the good out of the food and it takes like what dog food smells like to me. I can't stand it. We have Wendy's and Jack in the Box within a block of us too.

I encountered short surveys in some fast food chains here in my country. The crew approaches you and asks some questions when you are about to be done with your food. There are no freebies, at least there's a thank you=)

Aww no incentive. They should offer you something or $1 off your next purchase for your time.

@rina110383 Yes and it will attract more customers. And also get a sense of what customers enjoy to eat.

@infatuatedbby I just hope they'll do that because it's a wise marketing strategy apart from the fact that they get to know products/services that need to be improved and products that customers like best through the surveys. Offering a discount or freebies after the survey will encourage their patrons to come back and dine in their place.

I have not noticed the fast food restaurants asking us to do the surveys. Probably I do not buy fast food so often to notice it. I seldom have a meal there. I go mostly to meet friends or to have a chat or an ice cream.

I guess it may not be common from your area - but majority of my receipts offers some sort of promotion from the company as a selling technique.

I've never done these surveys, but it seems like a good idea to save a bit of money.
