She's How Old?

Today we went to one of our local restaurants. It is a family style place that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of my former daycare Mom's and her husband own it.
I was so happy as we entered and one of the children I cared for was there to seat us and wait on us. So hard to believe she is 15 years old already. When I started caring for her in my family daycare she was just 2 and her brother was 1. They've grown up so fast.
She was so sweet and remembered us (me and my hubby) though I was a little surprised that she did. Because I haven't seen her in a long time I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't remember me.
We had a lot of fun reminiscing and talking about her life now. It was just so wonderful to see her and get some Sammi hugs again! Oh and the food was delicious! I'll write about that in another post.

I can imagine it was amazing to see how much the children you have cared for has grown over the years. There was a time when I lived in Vegas and wasn't able to see my grandchildren for a couple of years. It seemed like they grew so much during that time away.

It's amazing how fast kids seem to grow when you don't see them very often. I have a few nieces and nephews that I don't get to see very often and when I do it's hard to believe how old they've gotten (even though they are close to my kids' age).

Maybe her mom or dad saw you come in and clued her in before she sat you at your table? It is good to see those kids we had contact with when they and we were younger. Our daughters used to babysit for the kids next door who were then five, three and one littler one. Now the oldest is around twenty which is also hard to believe. They moved from our neighborhood several years back.

What a sweet kid! I think kids don't have a hard time recognizing adults or anything for that matter. It's adults like us, who will sometimes not recognize kids because they grow up so fast=)

@kamel622 Yes, that also happens. It's really sad if your former students failed to recognize you.
