Would you rather have a house in the suburbs, or a tiny apartment in the city with an excellent view?

If I could get the rest of the family to move out with me I'd love a place in a gorgeous spot near a lake or the ocean and I'd also like a place in teh city that was nice. I guess I'd love the best of both worlds-- lol~

@okodoko Wouldn't that be a lovely way to spend your life? Need to win a lottery though-----

I was raised in the burbs so I prefer it to the city.

This is so tough! I am having this problem in my city. I want to buy a house but the choice is either an older inner city house close to work and downtown (and a million other things) or more remote in the surburbs with a backyard for a cheaper price or better deal for a newer house. Ugh! I think if I had a family I woule choose the suburbs but as a singleton I think Id still pick the city with all its drawbacks.

At this time in our life we live in a large city that has everything I could ever want very close. We moved here from a large house with a lot of land in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I loved the land and the trees and all the wild animals.
Now being retired, we could not shovel all the snow we got every year and being stuck on top of the mountain until some of the streets were plowed. We lost electricity during some of the big storms and again, being on the top of the mountain, we did not get it on until hours or even days later than others.
So to answer the question, I like both but a lot depends on the weather.

suburbs hands down...grew up in a major city in the Eastern USA...so crowded...I'd rather have some space between our neighbors and ourselves. Have a blessed day

Suburbs. I love and miss the simplicity and serenity of country living, though I live in the city.

If it were just me, I'd like to live in a small apartment over a bookstore and across the street from a coffee shop, at the beach. But my wife does not want to live any such place and since I like actually living with my wife, I won't be signing the lease on that apartment any time soon. Oh, yes, it is a real apartment and I visit the bookstore and the coffee shop whenever I go down to the beach.

I've lived in both, and have enjoyed the experience in both locations for different reasons. I currently live in a cozy place in the heart of my city, and I love it for the convenience it offers...shopping, dining, nightlife, etc.

That is a beautiful photo. We like living in the country and would be hard pushed to choose between your two options but probably the view would win out.

I have both and I would go to the suburbs if given the chance. It has a lot of childhood memories.
