High Temps Expected

Side yard

Tomorrow the temperature should rise to mid fifties. I will attempt to locate my weedwhacker and extension cord to clean up this section of side yard. Wednesday and Thursday the temperature should get up into the high sixties. The empty cardboard boxes from unpacking are going down to cover the grass. On top will go a thick layer of cedar mulch. This will set the stage for raised beds as time and funds permit. All the cables and pipes to the house run under this yard and up the wall so I don't want to attempt digging into the existing soil.

Raised beds sound great, so you do not need to dig, it could be dangerous.

The temps here aren't bad. It's pretty windy and more wind is expected. I hope you're able to get things done in the yard.

Raised beds sound like a great idea, I hope you have them in place soon.

Another good weed-preventer is thick layers of newspapers if you happen to get a daily paper. Six or more sheets can be laid down and overlapped then covered with mulch.
