I Lost My Ambulance!

You lost your ambulance?! Haha! Yes, that is what my friend and I asked her 5 year old son a few years back! He had been jumping on a trampoline with his older brother, when he lost his balance and fell over and let out a little cry of shock. We ran to the trampoline! He looked up at us, when we asked him what happened, and with immense dignity said "I lost my ambulance, and fell!". We of course, told him we were ever so sorry, and then after checking he was okay, explained the difference between balance and ambulance, he was very much unimpressed, and told us, we knew what he meant! Haha, my friend and I remembered that incident today. Did your kids or grandkids or children of friends also get words confused and confidently come out with them, then saying, you know what I meant?

Little kids say some great things don't they? I'm glad he wasn't hurt or you might have needed an ambulance!

@JudyEv , yes, they certainly do. After checking he was okay, we could then have a good chuckle about it. Thank goodness he did not need an ambulance!

Funny , how kids could mistook a word for another . And they wouldn't accept that they erred .

Ambulance and balance lol, they rhyme anyway. But kids do really have the tendency to confuse a word for another.

@salonga , yes, those two words sound so similar, that it would be easy for a young child to confuse :)

@BelleStarr , and they are so serious that they have the right word, that even when a person explains to them they don't, they figure it is that persons problem.

That was funny. I can't think of any similar instances at the moment, but I must have heard quite a few in my time.

@lilnana1111 , it was so cute, and we did have such a good laugh after we knew he was okay. I am glad you and your hubby still laugh about words your kids came out with. :)

Glad he was okay, and haha such personality "you knew what I meant!"-oh when I was teaching Sunday school or Vacation Bible club, sometimes they would have creative terms-usually it made me lose my train of thought about what I was talking about but it didn't matter because I would kinda just roll with it:).

Yes, one of my daughters does this, we have to drill her asking questions until we can figure out what she is talking about. A family joke has become a name she called one of her brothers once, Armless pithole. She meant, bottomless pit. Not sure how she made her way from bottomless pit to armless pithole but it was really cute.
