I am still shocked. Leticia, my helper and supporter in so many ways, has been away for a couple of days as she is having mayor dentist work done.
Last night, she rang me crying and told me that her youngest son, a young man around 30 years of age with 2 small children, had suffered a big accident and had both of his legs broken.
He drives one of those big garbage trucks as his job and the front of the truck will be total loss.
He was in surgery all night, but the doctors could only do something to one of his legs as the other would have to be less swelled to see what is left of it.
The doctors told Leticia that, considering the kind of accident, he was lucky to be alive.
But I cannot but think that driving is the way he earns his living and that, whatever the doctors do (they already told Leticia that there would be many surgeries more) he will have to find a new way to earn his life in order to have food at the table.
I could write more. I am so sad and shocked. And Leticia, so very sweet and generous, doesn´t deserve this. And Jorge is a good and responsible young man.
I will not go on though, because I want this to reach you so that you can send your prayers and/or good vibes to this far part of the world.
I thank you very much. I know mylotters are supportive. Now let us support my Jorge.

And his children are SO little. He hasn´t saved a penny because he spent all his money and his vacations building a couple of rooms to his house. He is (or was) doing it with his own hands. Now that will not get finished either.

From the little Leticia has told me, it will be a long thing. And I don´t know if the doctors will be able to save the other leg.

The guy would need a lot of moral and emotional support. It is not going to be easy for him. :(

Thank you so much. I have told Leticia that all we can do is to have faith.

That is horrible.
He must have faith and courage to face the future.
Since he is at work when he meets the accident, there will be work-related compensation from the insurance company.
i just hope that he can recover soon, and find meaningful work.

I told Leticia that they must see what the compensation works. I know that when there is a big accident, ther cops go and see what happened and then, lawyers see what they can get. And I´m sure that he will get compensation, although not quite as he earned.
Still, that will not be forever and, if he loses one of his legs, he will have to thinkof another work to do.

Leticia is always taking care of everyone even though she is past 60 years of age. I worry for Jorge, but I also worry for Leticia.
