On Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon the town had an ice skating event held here the children were from 3 years old to a senior in high school. I didn't go because I was told this building was kept so cold I would be miserable which I would have been when I heard so many saying people saying they were freezing there. I really like these types of events and they said this event was started forty years ago. Aren't these children cute? Do you have anything like this in your town?

Those kids are really cute and look like professional ice skaters. We don't have anything like this in our area

@Marilynda1225 Thanks, they do look like professionals who knows maybe someday one of them may become a professional. Sorry to hear you don't have anything like this in your area.

@Marcyaz just out of curiosity I asked my daughter and she said the closest one is about 40 minutes away. She's taken her children there but not often and they did have fun when they went

I didn't either when I was growing up in Oz, but here in San Diego there is a rink 10 minutes drive away.

@TiarasOceanView The girls probably were not cold being out on the ice moving around like they were and I just found out that The theme was The Lion King and that is the music they skated to. Now how cool is that!!!

@LadyDuck I have seen the professionals at an event a long time ago but I don't remember it being cold there. I guess with age comes coldness. The girls were really cute and even the younger ones. I am really surprised there is no skating rink near you.

@LadyDuck It has to be kept cold because of the ice but it is way to cold for me.

@jaboUK Really you have no indoor ice rinks in your area? I would think it would be a good sport there to compete against others.

@Marcyaz I think we'd have to go about 50 miles. I only went ice skating once when I was a kid, and sprained my knee. I never went again.

@divssri I think ice skating is a really good activity and to do so when children are young will help them a lot later in life. I remember when I ice skated in the side street and it was so much fun and good exercise.

I would assume if one took fuzzy blankets to sit on, dressed like they;d be out in the cold, it might not be so bad.

@BellaDoc I understand the theme was from the Lion King and the little 3 and 4 year olds came out dressed like lions, wish I had a picture of that. It is neat to think this has been going on for so long here.

@VivaLaDani13 We have fancy dress competitions here where the littlies dress up as whatever they want and act. Then there are red day, yellow day, green day, orange day, etc.... Those days kids dress up as anything red for red day... anything green on green day.
