Ideal Occupation

When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher, although being a writer was always lurking in the back of my mind. Neither of those occupations became mine, and if I could have any job in the world, I think it would be doing something in sports. I love watching sports, and the joy it brings people. If you saw me you probably wouldn't think I'd be into sports, although I'm tall enough to pass for a basketball player. I reluctantly played basketball in middle school and junior high, but enjoyed watching it more than playing. In a perfect world my ideal job would be impacting lives in a profound way. However, even if I weren't ill, I don't know how well I'd do managing the stress. My professors tried to get me into psychology, but I can't separate myself from other people's problems very well. Anyway, so if I had a fun job it would be something like I described earlier. Working at ESPN would be fun to me. Perhaps I'd meet a really tall man to marry! What about you?

I always knew more what I did not want to be. I thought about a sociology major, but I knew that I could not be a sociologist or a psychologist, for just the reason you gave. I could not separate myself from the sorrow. I have done some things I loved but mainly they have passed me by. In general terms, I am a great care taker, I love to help people.

I have never figured out what I really want to be. There are things I enjoy doing, but then there are aspects of each job I don't think I can handle. I like animals, and thought about being a vet, but then I couldn't stand to see animals in pain, and I might see some abused animals, I couldn't stomach that.

I started out wanting to be a teacher, but ended up working in an office. Once I got involved with Accounts Receivable, I found my niche. I really loved that work, and had a good job for many years. In the meantime, I also found satisfaction in teaching Sunday School, so guess I became a teacher after all.

That's a pretty significant teaching position, in truth.

I'm still confused and I'm doing my bachelor's in computer science engineering. Huh what to do? I kinda wish I could be a kid and dream of becoming a bus driver or something. That was way easier.

I'm the type of person who has an interest in lots of different areas. So if I could work full time and could work in any field that I wanted, I'd probably do lots of different things, such as being a chef, a DJ for a radio station, and work as a mental health worker, among others.

I am more of an entrepreneur wannabe as I would like the freedom it will give me. But we have to do what we need to do so just go for being employed for now.

Hello there! Just like you, my ambition was to become a teacher and that was only till I step out from my school. During my childhood, it seems, I used to enact like a teacher in my house and counting each block of the floor as a student. Funny Me! Not just that, I used to make question paper and answer papers on my own for all these students and start correcting the papers favoriting the student I like the most.. haha And moving on, my goal shifted to become "a psychologist". Trust me, this still holds on good till now. I enjoy speaking to people and in a way to understand their dreams, problems, their interest and to know how they treat their life. I would be so glad to help people with their problems. It instills a lot of maturity in us when we do such a networking with people. I would say - our ambition/ goal will shift from one to another based on the stages of our life. May be, that's just me! Wishing you all the best to meet & marry THE TALL MAN as you like.

I also wanted to be a teacher when I was a child, but in my later teens, I wanted to write novels. Of course that didn't happen for many years and I have not published a novel, only a short story, but I believe it will come about. I also believe if you really desire to do something, you can.

I always wanted to be a wife and a mother. And luckily I found the right man to fall in love with and do both of that with. Professionally, my most favorite job, which I held for 10 years, was working as an activity director in an old age home. To many they wouldn't think it a dream job, but it made my heart so happy doing that. Comforting those that seemed agitated, celebrating the victories of a stroke patient who has mastered standing up with assistance, and listening to them, they told me so many of life's lessons that I needed to know. Even as they progressed, often what wasn't said, but what was in their eyes, or if they reached their arms and hands out to you, that was a lot. It certainly changed my life for the better.

At some stage of my life I thought of being a teacher - a math teacher, that is, as I was more into the math and not really the teaching part...
