A dead man in an open field

There is a dead man. His body is lying face down in an open field. There are tracks approaching him and tracks leaving him. Only one set of tracks. He has a back pack. Tell me what happened. First right answer will receive a positive score from me.

He fell out of a plane. The back pack carries his unopened parachute. The tracks were made by a would be rescuer that happened upon the body?

Puzzle solved by Max Power below. Man fell from an airplane, parachute failed. He landed on RAILROAD TRACKS.
