In my life I have met some people that do not want to live forever ( eternity ) as they think they would be bored. They think that the present short life is enough. How do you feel about this discussion?
If you could live forever ( eternally, eternity ), how would you spent your time? Would you be bored?
* I wouldn't! There are so many different foods to enjoy and there are some foods that we never seem to get tired of eating them.
* There are so many books that I would like to read.
* There are so many places I want to visit.
* There are so many people I want to meet.
* There is so much music that I want to listen to.

@1hopefulman Because of my illness I've become home bound. Now lack of a vehicle makes me even more so. Because have been unable to work the money hasn't been there to do anything. I feel like I have been retired for the last 5 years at least (I say the last five because my kids are grown now and don't need me as much).

So, it was only boring as you couldn't do the many interesting things that you wanted to do?

If I could live forever, I may not feel bored but I will feel sad because the people who I love will pass away as time goes by. I think I will have plenty of time to learn different things and therefore I should not feel bored. There are so many books, movies, places etc. in the world and I can really take my time to enjoy them.

Why can't your friends and family also live forever? If your friends and family also lived for eternity, would you be happy then?

@youless That is an important concern. How many people do you think the earth could comfortably hold?

I don't think I will be bored as well. There are so many things to do, so many things to learn, and so many people to help. I will continue what I am doing now, but since I have more time in my life, I'll be able to do more - to learn and to help others.

@1hopefulman Yes, I remember my younger sister asked me this question, if I ever feel bored or lonely. I don't think I have ever felt that, even when I am alone. There are just so many things to do, sleeping hasn't been one of my favorite activities as well.

@kaka135 Great! What is interesting is that the Bible contains the expression "eternal life" many times.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
So living forever is not just a fantasy or an impossible dream but a reality. I'm so looking forward to that!

I don't think I would be bored. There are many thing that I actually want to achieve and living forever may provide me with the opportunity to fulfill my goals. There are so many places that I want to visit and if I am to live forever I will be able to visit all those countries. I will also like to know about how far technology will progress and how different this world will be.

When it comes to visiting and exploration, there is also a whole universe out there. The variety ensures us that we will never get bored once sickness and disease and old age are gone.

@Nawsheen Maybe God will create provisions for sustaining life on other planets. There must be a reason why they are there. We'll have to wait and see!

Jesus said, if you believe in me, you will have an eternal life. (not verbatim). Of course I want to have an eternal life and be with others and will have unending learning.

@jobelbojel I like to do careful research and often compare the different translations to have the most accurate understanding of a passage. Let's keep helping each other to stay close to God and his Son!

You are right, the conditions would be as important as the length of life.

@1hopefulman No what I mean is not the second life where i would live eternally with Jesus. I thought you were asking the probability of living this present life eternally which is of course not possible for we would all die.

@salonga Sorry! If I was young and healthy then no problem, even in this world but we know there is much better on the way.

Of course, we do not know who will make the effort to do what God requires. Should I receive the free gift of eternal life then I will adapt and enjoy life.
John 17:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.

Too many restrictions on Earth if you get to travel mood and emotion get in the way if that's doing alright then it's someone getting in your way and haunting you, if you are positive then there's negative nally, if you don't conform same thing, it's not ying and yang, ect

True but being positive can overcome the negative. Why not view a negative as a challenge to overcome?

That's why were meant to live one moment because we can't do it all. maybe when humanity evolves someday, they might live longer, or forever enough to do all of those.

@1hopefulman They have no interests and no life. I love being outdoors or indoors. Just nature alone can be a thing of joy. I could read my life away and never get bored.

You pretty much echo my thoughts! It would take a long time to catch up with all the books we want to read and movies to see and new ones are produced every day so there is a never ending supply.

When I read your post, I remember the movie that I watch"The Witch Hunter". Well for me, it's for a person choice how to live his life on this earth. If you always live your life in a negative way then your life will be boring.

I might want to live forever if the world didn't get any worse. There are many things that I haven't had the pleasure to do that I would like to do. If everyone around me could live forever also that would make it wonderful. But some day we will all be together and never have to worry about being bored.
