Hiding a Baby inside a Carry On Bag?!

United States

Who would have thought someone would actually hide a baby inside a carry on bag? Seriously? What was the reason for this lady/mom to hide her child in the carry on bag and how did she get away with it? A woman hid her 1 or 2 year old child (sources unknown right now) in her carry on because she was restricted from taking her child out of the country. Of course she was caught because her child needed to use the restroom and passengers noticed her bag moving. Have you ever saw anyone carry a strange carry on? Or have you been pulled aside because you had something strange? But I hope you didn't have a breathing human being or any human being!
Passengers on board an Air France flight found a baby hidden inside a woman’s carry-on bag on Monday. One passenger said he knew something was amiss when a

They are unsure - they think she had the child out during the security checkpoint then as they were boarding the child was in the carry on bag...

@Morleyhunt I agree - the article isn't updated. I was very shocked to see this especially since airlines are supposed to be extra cautious. What if this wasn't a baby but something else. I am sure there will be an updated article once everything is investigated.

@infatuatedbby there must be more to that story. How would she get past the security checkpoint with a child who isn't supposed to leave the country. Having flown a few times, this strikes me as someone or several someone's not doing their job.

Doctors should give you a paper explaining what you have so every time you board - you don't have to explain as much.

@Hatley Yes ~ it could also be nerve racking when they are thinking you are equipped with some sort of weapon. Sometimes when I'm on the spot - I freak out. But having a little note I can remember what I was about to say. You can be like here is my doctors note and as they read it explain.

I know - shame on this mother ~ I am not a mom myself but this is totally cruel. I cannot imagine that happening and I'm glad the child is safe after 1-2 hours in the flight before moving because she needed to go to the restroom. I would be so scared to be trapped in a bag.

hahaha how was that possible that they get passed security? Does that mean that our security at the airport are getting easy.

@dazzledlady I have no clue. I'm sure there will be an updated story. But I'm afraid if she was able to sneak a human being in her carry on without anyone noticing who knows what terrorism can do.

Yes it is awful. I am looking forward to hearing the entire story and why she was desperate to do something very harmful to her child. Luckily her child remains safe!

@TiarasOceanView I know right - but I think she was in her desperate stages and panicked probably. I wonder what the story is all about.

What a news! I haven't heard of a similar news and I haven't seen anyone carrying a strange carry on. That has not happened to me yet and hopefully it won't in the future.

Yes - according to the news, it was probably after they entered check point, scanner then before boarding she placed her child into her carry on but I don't know how she passed ... No clue yet hopefully articles will update.

Sometimes people can just think of all sorts of ways just to do what they want to do, even though it's illegal. I just can't imagine how how a 1 or 2 year old child can be hidden inside the bag, he's not a small baby anymore. Hope the child is fine now.

I cannot imagine how she managed to hold the carry on into the plane and then place the bag where? Did she not care to see her child stuffed in the bag and it'd suffocate the child? I have no idea what was in her head too.

I heard about this news. In fact I don't understand how this woman could pass the checkup in the airport because it is very strict. Usually they will put the bags into the scanning machine. And sometimes they will also open it to have a check. It is very strange that she could put a little child inside but nobody found it out. It is a kind of abusing to put a child in the bag and carry to the plane.

I know - the airport didn't do their job properly if they did not know the baby/child was in her carry on until like 2 hours into the flight! What else could someone sneak on the airplane and they wouldn't know right? It is abuse - she will be jailed that's for sure

That's so cruel. Maybe she doesn't want to pay the fare for the baby? But what if the baby can't breathe? What happened after that though? Was she arrested?

Fare for baby is free if under 2 years old. The mom is in custody. According to the article (not completely updated) is because the mom didn't have any authority to bring her outside the country and maybe she is trying to flee?
@Carmie (64)
10 Mar 16
@infatuatedbby Oh okay, sorry I didn't know. Never brought a baby with me. hahaha! So she got ask to get off the plane? Or was she caught after the plane took off? (It has similarities with the scene of Mama Mary hiding Jesus though.)

@Carmie Oh I didn't know either - I read the article lol. No, they found out she had a baby in her carry on as the plane was flying. Once landed she was of course arrested and is in custody.
