My sister and I live in opposite ends of the same city. She doesn't visit me often because of the distance. But when she does, it is quite a lot of fun. My parents came to visit me couple of days back. So I expected my sister to come yesterday. She did come, and she brought along her guitar as well. After our usual banter post lunch, she surprised me by asking me to sing a song for which she said she would play the notes. I'm at best a kitchen singer (I sing while cooking or doing the dishes) and I do not know the full lyrics of any song. She gave me the lyrics of a couple of hit movie songs and asked me to sing by looking at them. She had come prepared for this. But I was not. My parents intervened and convinced me to sing. After a couple of false starts, to my utter surprise, I did enjoy singing to my sister's tunes. It was great fun. After two hours of feeling conscious of my nervous voice, messing the tunes, forgetting the lyrics and laughing hard, finally I sang a song fully with no mistakes. I was very proud of my achievement and I was signalling to my parents to check whether they saw our performance. Only then did I realize, my father was capturing the entire thing on a video recorder. Now I'm sure, I will be teased all through out my life. I had just created a historical moment for the entertainment of the entire family. Who knew singing would be so much fun? Do you like singing?
