I have been noticing that after reading the sugar content and calorie content of some cereals that most of them have a very high sugar content. It is suprising considering we are told to have a healthy breakfast by having cereal in the morning!.
Looking at sugar content of sweet desserts, I have noticed that that sugar contents are not that much different and even in some cases some cereals have higher sugar content that some desserts!
I think from now on I will be looking more on the sugar content of cereals before eating them so early in the morning. I might however have them for dessert though!!
Did you know notice the high sugar and calorie levels in breakfast cereals?

I always roll my eyes when it comes to the wording of those breakfast cereals. I think it says it "can be a part of" a healthy breakfast . They can add all the extra vitamins they want, but it doesn't matter as all that sugar is in there too. And even if it's low in sugar, the cereal itself is highly processed - your body will turn it into sugar anyway.

If I want cereal I make granola at home to control the sugar. I also will cook hot oatmeal. Boxed sweetened cereal tastes good sprinkled on ice cream, or in a dessert like pudding. I will not say yogurt because t actually has as much sugar when you buy it in the stores. I make my own if I am going to have it.

Most cereals are nutritionally terrible. Count Chocula! Frankeberry! Very few are low in sugar. There are some cereals that are good to eat like shredded wheat and grape nuts.
