Join or Die?

I came upon an interview in a magazine I got for free about Craig Ferguson's new show on The History Channel. It is called "Join or Die", and while an odd title, it's actually really good. If you don't remember, Craig Ferguson is the Scottish (also now an American citizen) talk show host who did The Late Late Show for over a decade before being replaced.
He is also in his second season of the game show "Celebrity Name Game", which is very funny, and just plain enjoyable.
Join or Die brings together three famous people other than Craig Ferguson, who talk or debate, which of the six choices they are shown, best fit the category they are given to discuss. In a half hour they eliminate two choices per commercial break, and they let the audience vote on the final two. For instance, this week they debated the world's worst tyrant, and Hitler (no surprise), won. Next week they discuss world's worst cults.
One of the guests is an expert in the field being talked about. It's a professor with a doctorate in something related to the week's subject. The other two guests are somewhat varied. Elijah Wood was a guest last week, while Julie Bowen (Modern Family) was a guest this week.
It's pretty engrossing, and I'm impressed with the humor Craig can give to a difficult subject while still grounding the show with the impact of such terrible subjects.
Have you seen a show lately or a person who took you by surprise is an unexpected endeavor?

These days I have to say no, TV is pretty disappointing all the way around.
