I've been a stay-at-home mom, a work-at-home mom, and I'm currently working a part-time job outside of the home. Each has its ups and downs, but I think my favorite of the three has to be working outside the home. I really enjoy my job, and it's helped us afford a few extras lately--like sending our oldest to Zoo Camp this week. It's been a wonderful educational opportunity for her.

I always said that I would never be a stay-at-home mom, because I thought it was the worst job in the world (yes, I love my children, but I didn't think that I would have the patience for it). However, I have found that I have more patience than I thought I would. Still, I did enjoy my previous job and sometimes miss it.

I have done both. Although it was difficult financially to be a stay-at-home mom, I think that the rewards outweigh the negative aspects of it.

I had my career time - so when we decided to start a family (late), I was ready to give my all to family life. It has been tight at times, but Hubby and I agreed that one of us should stay at home during these precious years - and I was only glad to be a stay at home mom. The kids are in elementary school now, but still I hold the fort and then we run around after school for their various activities. Maybe when they are a tad older and I don't to drive around so much, I just might jump back into a career life again.
