Ok, I'm Done With Being Depressing.

Some of you informed me that they found my last post depressing, so here is something on a lighter note.
I was reading about some funny typos the other day and it reminded me of a comment I received on one of my posts on another site.
The post was about a portal or doorway into an imaginary world, and someone said "I'd love to pee through your portal" !
I don't know if she'd left a 'p' or a 'k' off the pee, but I'm sure you understand what she was trying to say.
The lady in question is on this site, I wonder if she remembers it.
I made an embarrassing mistake myself one day when I responded to a woman's post by saying that she looked fat. Oops - I meant to say 'fit'.
Have you made any silly typos?

Oh yeah, I have made lots of typos, some I spot myself and fix and others are pointed out by other members and then I go back and edit it.
And don't worry about your last post. I thought it was a glimpse into some people's reality, and reality isn't necessarily happy, especially homelessness.

In the old myLot when we couldn't edit our discussions I made a discussion about grammar. I spelled it grammer. Great way to introduce my topic
I once wrote a message to a friend. I wrote it in Danish, and I wanted to write: "I want to eat a cake". Auto correct changed it and when I sent the message it said "I want to eat a doctor"

@jaboUK In Danish cake is kage and doctor is lage. The words are spelled almost the same way, but the meaning is very different

@Porscopino Oh that grammar one really was an 'oops', considering the subject matter. Auto correct is guilty of a lot of boo-boos, but it makes you wonder how cake became doctor.

To my knowledge you can still edit even after that much time has passed, Valerie, but I'll go and check that out to see.

Well, Valerie, I just left a comment here and said I'd test your theory, but now I see my comment didn't 'take' after all. I just edited a post from the fourth of this month and tagged you on it. You don't have to visit it if you don't want to, but I did that tonight just after 1am and it's two weeks old as of the 14th.

@sugartoes That is so true - we cut each other some slack because we know we have probably been guilty of typos ourselves.

I make them all the time. If I catch them before I submit them, then I correct them. I have seen some posts I have done that did have errrors, so I went and edited them and corrected them. I am sure the ones reading them wondder what I am trying to say. I wondered about them too, as I coulldn't figure out what I was trying to say.

I was talking about eggs and mentioned 'porched' eggs. One user promptly asked me for the 'porched' eggs recipe knowing fully well that it was a typo Grrrrrr

@jaboUK No. She was just being nasty. If you had spotted it you surely would have had fun and teased me about it.

@Tampa_girl7 I'm pleased about that Marie, because you were one of the ones who said my post on the homeless woman was depressing

Auto correct messes with my typing regularly. I say things I never intended. Sometimes the attempted correction makes it worse.

@jaboUK yes I did. I have had so many typos lately, and then because my internet don't cooperate, I can't even fix them. It's enough to make me stop writing.

I'm sure I have. Don't have a cell phone. Ellen often does a segment on her show that are text typos. Some are pretty funny.

@LovingMyBabies The thing is that we could do them and never know unless somebody points them out, or we go back to a post.

nothing that bad.. though i did once tell a guy I was trying to break up with
"it's not me, it's you!"
I meant it the other way around, but erm.. I guess the Freudian slip got the best of me

typos?? e'ery keystroke here's like a typo :D sure does look purty though with all those red squigglies, lol.

@craxyhorseladycx People weren't really moaning about my poem, just stating the fact that it was depressing - which it was. Not to worry.
I'm wondering how you would know if you'd done a typo, with all those squiggles

@JamesHxstatic We could make typos and never know, couldn't we? I've caught quite a few when I've gone back to a comment I've done, when the poster has replied to it.
