Easter Craft: Sewing pyramid chickens with children

My children always like to sew. I usually just let them choose the felt and thread they want, and they just do whatever they like. I didn't give any instructions or teach them how to, unless they ask me.
Sometimes I do teach them the sewing techniques, especially my 7-year-old son needs to learn. Since Easter is coming, and I found this easy-making chicken, we just made these together yesterday. These can be used as toys, pincushions and also paper weight.
They chose the colors they want, and I helped them to cut out the felt as well. For my little girl, I just let her sew however she likes, but I taught my son to use running stitch. My children wanted to put the horns on the chicken, as in the story of 12 Chinese zodiac animals, the rooster was initially having a pair of horns, but he lent them to the dragon. So, my son wanted to add the horns to his rooster.
Are you making any Easter crafts?
You can find the tutorial for making this pyramid chicken here:
These Sewing Crafts for Kids are simply so so so cute. Make these adorable easy Juggling Chooks with the kids and have lots of fun with them too!

Wow your kids are so talented. Even I don't know how to sew. The pyramid chicken turned out very nice. I can see them used as a toy and also the paperweight idea is great too!

Thanks. I guess they have always been seeing me sewing since they were young, so they are interested in doing it themselves as well. Even though my mom was a tailor, I didn't know how to sew until recent few years.
They always need paperweight, as they like to draw a lot.

@infatuatedbby That's so nice of your dad! I always adore men who know how to do all these handwork. I think they are great!

@kaka135 My dad used to sew on his spare time and I never knew how either. He would make us leather jackets and clothes as a child. Not anymore though lol.

Thanks. I am always happy that kids always like simple things. The chickens are really easy to make, and we completed them in just a short time, but they are so cute and the children like them.
Perhaps you might do some Easter paintings? I'd love to see the pictures if you have painted them.

A that's so cute! I'm glad to know there are more encouraging parents like you today. I missed out on the good stuff in my childhood days.

Thanks. I guess this is all because of practice. As I have been doing it since they were young (not when I was young), they like to do it as well.
I think if I allow him to use the computer, he can always learn from youtube. The tutorials in youtube are really clear and well explained.

Your kids have talents. I remembered they also made bookmarks. I couldn't even do any of those. I wish I have their talents.

These are so adorable. My children are not into crafts as much as they used to be. I wish they still were. We didn't do any Easter crafts at all. I actually didn't even decorate this year either. I was just a mess. March is the hardest month of the year for me.
