Just add questions and stir

Hi folks. It's time for another soup post. One with lots of questions.
1. Asking a "what do you think?" question seems to be a popular tactic with (mainly new) MyLot members at the moment. I've seen far too many non-posts recently which just pop a one sentence question and then ask for an opinion. No details, no context, just an expectation that people will respond.
It's lazy and unnecessary and I don't like being asked to give an opinion when I have no idea what the other person's opinion might be. How do you feel about this?
2. Are you an exhibitionist or a voyeur? On Facebook, I mean. I'm a casual voyeur. I occasionally like to see what my friends are up to but I rarely share anything personal there.
3. Kim Kardashian's nude selfies - good or bad for women? Ground-breaking news, to be sure, but remind me again - how did Kim become famous in the first place? I know it's not the done thing to support her right to exhibit herself like this, but shouldn't we be grown-up enough by now to recognize that the way someone looks is an important part of who they are and how they are received by others? Certainly, women (or men) shouldn't be judged entirely on how they look, but a blind denial of appearance is simply unrealistic.
One doesn't need to be prurient to be interested in the female form - artists and writers have been at it for years. Uncomfortable though it may be to admit, there is a raw, undeniable power in physical beauty which is better to discuss than to dismiss.
4. Would you rather live in a cave or a dormitory? After my last point, you may think it's unnecessary for me to say I'm a cave man, but there you have it. I'd need a relatively well-appointed cave, to be sure, but I'd be happier being without a few home comforts than being surrounded by people all the time.
5. And finally, hope and fear are the two great motivators. Politics, religion and advertising couldn't survive without them, and the justice system desperately needs more of one and less of the other. Which motivates you more? For me it's hope.
Hopefully there was something in this post that you found interesting.

Interesting post. Here's my responses:
1. How about "What's new with you lately"?
2. I'm a exhibitionist and sometimes a voyeur since I'm there daily.
3. No comment on Kim Kardashian.
4. Dorm, of course. In a cave, no way. There's bears, bats, and a lot of cold chills in there. I rather be with people than alone.
5. Positive thoughts motivates me with a silver sliver of hope. Take it one step--and--one day--at a time.

I always find something interesting in your posts. How did Kim Kardashian become famous? I rarely go to Facebook and I post even less often. I'm motivated by hope, but it's fear that moves me past procrastination.

Hello Robin, nice to meet you.
I'd rather live in a cave than a dorm as I'm sure the creature that lives in the darkest and furthest corner of the cave can't possibly smell as bad as some of those sharing the dorm.
If I go on FB it's to get in touch with others for a reason, ie to leave a message for someone I can't otherwise contact.

I would certainly choose the cave. I am a bit of both as far as #2 is concerned. I like to interact on Facebook when I'm in the mood - I have great friends there. Hope always beats out fear.

When someone does one sentence it is not easy at all to give a respond.

And I'll respond on your exhibitionist/voyeur questions. i'm both I guess. I do share TMI on Facebook at times. And I do tend to spend time seeing what's up with people's lives.
