Just whatI have noiced when my old roommate Kathy was last here. She went from sweet and friendly and helpful to argumentive, rude and at times hateful. But I had studied on the disease and knew it was the disease and not her real self talking. But oh my it got so bad anally she was sent tfo a facility that deals mainly with senile dementia ans alzheimer disease. Remember when you mom suddenly seems hostile towards you it is the disease talking not the person she was.I know ts really awful to bear but if you remember the disease has twisted her mind and what she says is not her but the disease talking instead it will help some. .

those kinds of things are so sad, I've seen it happen before and it's hard for those who knew the 'before' to handle

@Hatley I checked online. I don't seem to have it from the symptoms I have. It's more of depression for me.

These diseases are devastating.. I have read that eating coconot oil can help to keep the mind clear, but it has to be taken every day.. But better do a search and find more facts.. At leat I eat coconit oil, virgin, organic, - every day.. mix it with cocoa powder and eat it with about 70% chokolate - tastes great that way.

Even younger persons sometimes have stuff "going on" that really make them hard to bear. Things like a blood sugar problem or other health issues are life changers.

I live with two people who have mental issues. I have seen them both without their meds and it ain't pretty. In my daughter's bi-polar disorder she has very few but her manic phases aren't fun to live through. Her meds have been tweaks enough that she doesn't have them often but, when she does it's like someone else has moved in.

It is sad when dementia takes away the person we've known and loved. They still look like our loved one, but they really are not anymore.
