It makes me laugh.

Once upon a time, I had feelings of sadness, loneliness and envy when I was here at myLot. Many of the discussions were about the fact that people were not here for the money but for the friendships people had made and that if ever anything happened to myLot they would stay for those friendships. It was not about the money but it was about the friendship I would feel so bad because although I loved the interactions with members, I couldn't honestly say I felt really close to anyone and I knew if anything happened to me, I would not be missed. For me it WAS about the money and I would feel so bad about that. When myLot stopped paying, people were like rats deserting the sinking ship and that's what makes me laugh because that says to me that people first and foremost ARE here for the money.

I need the money too but I'm not very good at making it quickly enough to amount to anything. I need to connect to people for my sanity.

I don' need the money but it is still fun to see the bank going up. It is more motivating. But I love to communicate with different people with different or similar points of view.

You make a good point. I know I enjoy the money. But I must say, when I was on bubbles, I would barely make a penny every few days. I think I would stay for sure, but not invest as much time like I do now.

I used to spend hours here and Bubblews but I was just not able to churn out enough posts to make enough money for anything. I need to connect to others but I need to get up off my bottom and be active more.

The earning feature is definitely my motivator to be here no matter how slow it is. When it's gone, I left to where everyone else moved to at the time... yep, Bubblews. And only came back here when the earning feature was reactivated. I've never denied that the earning feature matters to me...

To be frank, people need money, so of course money is involved but interactions are nice and keeps us going.

You make a very valid point Ms Tickle. I remember you well and I am glad to see you once again. I did hang around this site even when it was not paying, posting on and off, but it was like a desert..no one much was around. Yes it proves it is about the money a lot of times, I agree with you. I am also very sorry that you felt lonely before too. I hope you do not feel that way here now.

It was good that you stayed. I AM beginning to feel lonely in life and that is why I come here in the hope of having discussions, joining others and being a part of something, otherwise, life can be empty of human interaction.

That's blunt. I wouldn't say "lying" - maybe kidding themselves or sprouting bs.

I left here before myLot stopped paying, because the place was getting overrun with spam, it seemed that Admin was not here and communicating with us, and the overall feel or atmosphere of the place turned negative. I actually did not realize that myLot had stopped paying until one of my friends told me about it. I heard about Bubbles, and several people suggested that I go there. It was a paying site, but I never did join it.

@MsTickle It is good to see you again, too. Yes, it was getting really bad, and it was frustrating to come here and see it all and not have anything done about it. The plagiarizing was getting out of control as well, which is worse. They were copying comments within a discussion and reposting them within the same discussion and they weren't being removed ... or at least not very quickly.

Not today as I've been out with friends. However, I used to be a volunteer driver taking my clients where they needed to go and I loved doing it. Following my heart attack 15 months ago, I have not been allowed to drive my clients and so my life is so much emptier than it was. I'm trying to keep busy but I really miss those clients and the feeling I was doing something really worthwhile.

Yes, we all are, down underneath, but friendships form and I know I miss the other site and some of the people who didn't migrate here. I wonder about them all the time. So though it's about the money, it is also about friendships.

I stayed for ages after it stopped paying but there were no discussions to reply to and it just became a spam fest. then I left and didn't come back to any writing type sites until I found out that mylot had been taken over again. I'd say most are here for the earnings but not all.

well said this is the fact part but beyond this i also feel life is short and while chasing money we also get to meet new people not physically but through their ideas, some seems good some attracts more,in that short duration of life time we can't see everything,we cant go everywhere,i hope this platform is best to distribute your ideas in return paid better one

The best part about this site is the people and the discussions and interaction. I don't care why folk want to be here but I find it amusing when they say they are not here for the money but leave when the money stops.

@MsTickle i admit for me is why i am here is money and i almost know what this site is all about and i will feel worthy of it if atleast one of its member become real friend of mine, simply because they are better than the rest

Yes, in my case that is true. Since I have become a professional writer I cannot use time doing anything 'free' online. It is just how it is. I have to relegate my time more appropriately now than I would otherwise.

I think people are here for both truthfully-a lot of people here NEED the little bit of money we earn. The main reason most people left I think was the weird lay out. If it stayed looking like this I think people would have stayed here. It was awful and it didn't make any sense to anyone I don't think-a bad twitter spin off?

Some, I know a few on other sites, they come just to talk, in most cases, when a site stops paying , a lot of the people you came to visit with have left, so you end up going too, if you just came to talk.

I was with Associated Content/YCN and being not US based was not paid. After few years I felt shortchanged though I liked the interaction. Then I was quite active at Wikinut though payment was meagre. Then they stopped even that little and when many left I came here. Though I love the interactions I want some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of monetary rewards - Siva

Honestly, I'm not here for the money. One doesn't make that much. I have made some good friends who I have fun chatting with. I'd met them on Bubblews and Facebook. There are some cool people around. I do hope you make some money, though. Cheers! Oh, my name is Tim, by the way....
