Liking or loving a certain song doesn't has to be in a particular genre, or the artist or the decade i was released.
Being born in the 80's, i have come to know with Michael jackson, Whitney Houston, madonna and cindy lauper.
During my teens, I have been in to boybands in the 90's and the early 2000's, that I really has few crushes on some members.
Way before i was born, I came to know and love few songs of frank sinatra and engelbert through my father, who would sing to us before we fell asleep as if it was a lullaby.
But, the oldest song that I know was from 1950's. Quite old for a mid-30's woman, lol.
A song sung by the chordettes, "mr. sandman (bring me a dream). That while I am typing this, i am singing, bung...bung..bung.. the intro of the song.
Do you like old songs too?

How old is old? Music is timeless - here is some lovely Gregorian Chant music
Translation: Latin to English Ave mundi spes Maria, ave mitis, ave pia, ave plena gratia. Ave virgo singularis, quc per rubum designaris non passus incendia....

@Lucky15 it is. How about "Yellow bird"? I am sure you know that song. It goes this way..."yellow bird, up high the banana tree. yellow bird, it sits all alone like me. Did your lady friend leave your nest again, that is very sad, makes me feel so bad".

Ouch, that makes me feel old.
The oldest song I own dates to 1922. The oldest song on my iPod was recorded in 1927.
For reference: my dad was born in 1930. I was born in 1960.

One of my favorite songs is Love Is Here to Stay. It's an oldie.
Ella Fitzgerald is my favourite singer of all time. "Love Is Here To Stay" is my favourite Gershwin song of all time. Nelson Riddle is my favourite arranger ...

I was born in the late 1990's and most people my age listen to the POP(ular) music these days.
I remember when I was in my early teenage and most of my friends went gaga about Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, etc.
I am more of a Rock person. Even though there are bands that create good rock music these days, I have always had a soft corner for the old bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Queen, Nirvana, to name a few.
