Better Than Snow

It's raining today, and really really gloomy out there. We are supposed to get rain for the next 2 or 3 days. I don't mind that much it's still way better than snow. I am hoping we have seen the last of that this winter. And spring is only a couple of weeks away or so, heck I don't know I didn't count. I love hearing the rain on the roof, it's quite soothing especially if I'm still in bed.
So I want to put some color into my life so I picked this flower. Again I"m not sure what this flower is, I know my husband would know but he is still sleeping. My favorite time to myLot when the entire household is still sleeping. It's hard to read post here when my husband and son are talkative.

It is storming here today in Florida as well. Nasty day today, then it gets really hot over the next week, with more storms the following weekend. Really ruins weekend plans when it only rains on Saturday or Sunday! lol
The flower in the photo looks like a daisy.

@fishtiger58 Yes, here in Florida we have a horrible problem with the humidity. It's not so bad in the winter when the air is pretty dry, but in the summer it is unbearable. In fact, it's the humidity that gets us worse than the heat!

@gudheart I know what you mean. I think 12 to 15 years ago we had the worst ice storm on record in the Chicago area in March.

Snow is the worst. You have to shovel it. I think it's now safe to say we are done with snow. Hope I didn't just jinx us lol.

Gorgeous picture of a Gerbera Daisy - and do you meant you picked it from your garden as it's way too early for them so you must have bought it. Love the colour- very uplifting~

No this shot was taken 2 years ago while I was at a garden center in my area. We do have to buy these every spring as they don't reseed.

@MarymargII Yup they are annuals, they never come back the next year so we buy them every spring. We usually buy and plant sometime the first or 2nd week of May.

I had a friend who retired and moved to Florida, it lasted one year and she came back home. Said it was way to hot and humid there. We get humid here too but she told me it was unbearable there.

@fishtiger58 I do not like snow, especially in March, it can be dangerous, for the trees and the flowers.

Raining here for the next few days too. Rain is okay when it's a warm rain, and it is soothing to listen too, so much so it puts me to sleep. However, it soaks where snow doesn't. You don't come in drenched to the skin when it snows out. I just thought I would point that out
I might not be good with flowers, barely know one from another, though I do know a few, and this one looks like it might be part of the daisy family.

My flowers are coming up, Crocus, tulips, daffodils and hyacinth. The crocus are always the first to bloom and so far they are the only ones with flowers.

lovely orange flower. Is that a sub-specie of the sunflower or daisy, my friend? and as usual, you have the photographer's eye
