Do you have a survival kit?

I am going to work on creating my own home grown survival kit. I mean, to take in the car when on the road, for instance flashlight, batteries, radio, tools, tent, fishing rod, night light, sun screen, water, stuff like that. There are all kinds of survival kits out there, I just want to make one that would be good to carry along when on the road, just to be prepared for whatever might come along. A first aid kit and a spare tire comes to mind. In case of a flood, some type of flotation device is necessary. rope and a life jacket and some kind of air up flotation device like a tire tube and a bike pump or a self inflating raft. This might be difficult to pack into a small car's trunk as most are so tiny you can barely put 2 bags of groceries in one let alone a spare tire.

You need a walker's kit. Buy a back pack and start putting in the things that you need. It will be there when times call for immediate action and when seconds really count.

That second sentence sounds like my list for going camping.

@lookatdesktop I have actually experienced emergency situations such as a super typhoon, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. There was an incident wherein somebody made a very sick prank and shouted that a tsunami was coming out way and we should evacuate. I remember i had on my backpack but i didnt know what was in it.Worst of all i could not leave our house because at that time i still had my mother who was ill and in bed. If at that time there was actually a tsunami i would have drowned with my mother. What i'm saying is ...nothing can prepare us for a powerful earthquake or a very strong typhoon and storm surges(tsunami)

@mammots The only thing that would work would be an advanced warning system.

I'm a prepper so I have survival stuffs, tools, gadgets all over the house placed in different strategic parts of the house plus medical supplies, extra food and water and I partly also generate our own electricity for lighting, I prep for emergency situations like natural calamities that is common in our country and I do not want to rely on a corrupt government that sucks when the situation arrives. What you are trying to build is an EDC or what is called an everyday carry, I would advice you ( if i may) to get tips on the web but build one that is suited and unique for yourself and your terrain and climate. Another tip is buy quality, the best your money can buy and something that would not fail when you need it most. Yes assemble your own cause you can customize and save a lot of cash rather than buy ready made kits.

No time like the present so you can be prepared for the future and forget about the past mistakes we made.

Now there are some things you might want in the cab of the car, in case of severe weather. Getting of of a car in a thunderstorm or tornado might be a challenge when your kit is in the trunk, I think some vehicles have an access panel in the back seat to get to the trunk but this is not usually the case.
