El Chigüire (The Capybara)

You can see in the rainy western plains of Venezuela but center is found throughout Latin America. The capybara is the world's largest rodent species and belongs to the caviomorfos. Also called capybara rodent and weighs 50 kg but can weigh 80. According to some this species is endangered and according to others is well preserved.
These rodents often live in communities inhabited mainly by females as there are 2 per male. These social groups are governed by a hierarchy of a dominant male. To keep his job, this chasing another subordinate male semicircles which gives the pack to not abandon them. A peculiarity of these males is that they never leave the group. And any intruder is expelled regardless of their sex.

Some people are now keeping them as pets in the US. They were as big as dogs.

This animal is under care while it is within the territories prepared for it, however, there are certain seasons where it is used as a source of food

We do not have capybaras here in the Philippines but I have seen them already and I would say they are awesome creatures, btw I took a picture during our trip to the biggest zoo in our country( Avilon Zoo)
