Ten things I don't like about this world and some of the people in it

I have severe depression with panic attacks. I am devoted to my daughter and helping her to raise her son. I am so proud of her and the change she has been through over the last three or four years. SHe is bi-polar and has a leaning disability. Having been her advocate most of her life I know her pretty well. We have had some bad times but I think we are at a good place now. In my 64 years I think I have seen it, heard it and been party to so much. Here is a list of ten things I dislike about this life/world and the experiences I have had in it. 1. People who feel their way is the only way and have no room to listen and perceive of anything different. 2. People who beat their dogs when he runs out in the street instead of keeping him chained or maybe ON A LEASH!! (Cats are so much easier) 3. People who seem to think that the Gods are going to forgive them for making the conscious decision of putting their baby in the garbage. 4. People that look down on the infirm and see them as unholy, uncouth, inhuman and despicable. 5. People who hold managerial or boss titles and can't spell, can't function on their own. 6. People who are so weak and ignorant that they 'give it to God' and let him do it instead of standing tall and fighting for what they should believe in. (I see God shaking his head) 7. People who think that if a person is old they aren't good enough and can't do, think, or express themselves. 8. People who use and abuse the system, thereby making a need for stiffer rules to be made and making it harder for the honest folk to navigate the system. 9. People who brutalize others and find entertainment in it. 10. People who waste goods and do not see where they should cut down on waste and do their part to keep down the carbon footprint. So there too!

Oh, yes. #5 is hurting a lot of companies but they are blaming it on the workers. Workers need to stand up and say something.

I can so relate to this list. I've been there done that with all of it, including having a son who is bi-polar. I've seen the problems and manipulations of the system, and know first hand the consequences I'm facing because of it. You have my deepest respect for raising a bi-polar daughter. I know it wasn't easy.

I don't like all of those people you listed here too! Good to hear that you are living well now, together with your grandson? How old is he now?

I agree with everything here. For managerial / boss titles I could add bosses who have completely lost touch with how things are in the departments they oversee. They look at stats and numbers, and see tehri people as numbers. That I HATE! I've always been taught, take it home and see if anyone else could eat ti / use it. Don't just throw it away.

I wonder if someone could appreciate this kind of people, probably only those who are part of one those categories.

What a great list. Unfortunately, we have to put up with many of them. You and I are the same age and I also have some pretty bad depression (some days my medication actually helps) and occasionally I have to deal with anxiety. I just do my best to power through it all. Your daughter is blessed to have you! I'm alone these days, which doesn't help my depression. Writing does help, however.

Yes, it does. Being alone is not fun all of the time. I do like my alone time, though. It is like I am allergic to stress. Literally.

I can understand you dislike of these things. Compassion really isn't that hard.

it goes beyond compassion when they need it, not I.
