How Do You Make Ends Meet?

I'm sure this question is asked or has been asked more than once, so forgive my ignorance. But how do you make ends meet using the Internet? Assuming many of us are here to build friends and make some pennies along the way, but what other places or sites are you working at or for that use the wonder of the Internet? As for me, I wrote for content mills such as Demand Studios and Examiner.com for a short period of time. Demand Studios paid a flat rate per article and went through a rigorous editorial process. Examiner's editorial process was laxed and so it was easier to write an article on any topic. I've stopped writing for both sites to focus on my own stuff. Since then, I focused on site building and completing a book that really hasn't sold much. Although my sites are monetized with Adsense, I haven't quit my day job. So, I'll quite jabbering now. I'd like to know how everything else is doing. Maybe share some success', dos and donts and/or sites to earn a few more pennies.

To be honest ,I've never met anyone (virtually or in reality) that has ever been able to make end meet solely online. I've heard of lots of people that do it ,but it seems to be a very rare thing.

@Cintronwriter Good points. I guess I never thought of online professors, and they do seem to do at least fairly well. Good luck with your search!

I don't have any idea, honestly, how to make enough on the internet to be able to quit my day job.
