Tips needed for castle clash!

Guys, I am a newbie in castle clash. Currently I am hooked up to the game. Can anyone suggest me good useful tips to succeed in the game. Rolling of gems, Base choice,storm mesa any tips is welcome.

@mkrnex No, I do not use an iPhone, I have a tablet, but I have not bought games.
