Panic striked me when my eldest didn't came home on time. She usually out from school exactly at 12noon here. Today was different, it's already past 1pm and still no Savannah showed up.
I went to her school to check since its really nearby our house. I didn't saw her there so I went back home thinking I might just missed her. To my dismay, she's still not home. I tried to calm myself and went back to her school but I still didn't saw her there.
It was 3pm and I am thinking a lot of possibilities that might happened and then she showed up the door and told me she fell asleep while playing with her classmates. I don't know how to react. I want to be mad at her for scaring me but all I was able to do is hug her and thank God nothing bad happened to her.

Thanks. It's really not a good feeling. I was so stressed out! :-)

I didn't even have an energy to scold her. All I did is to hug her and tell her not to do it again.

I can identify how that feel so I am with you there, just tell her calmly that mommy loves you, that you are worried when you are not home and you always have to be informed of your whereabouts, but since she fell asleep guess not much we can do, thank her for her honesty

I am sure she could not help it if she fell asleep. What I want to know is why the teacher did not call you or wake her up.

I guess that topic will go for a week whenever she goes to school just to make sure it sticks.

I think I better stick with her until end of the month just to be sure it's not gonna happen again.

That's why I got scared. She never did such things. She's a very straight kind of daugther who does what she was told to do.

Thank God that she is safe..and you also did right that hug her.You should tell her with love that she should not do like that now on.
Because once i was in 7th standard i went to play with friends after school and my mom didn't know about that ..then same thing happened with my mom but difference was that i got scolded first and then hug.

No cellphone, are you kidding me? every kid now a days have a cell phone. At least buy her a cheap phone, the ones that are just good for calling, with out those internet appt stuff. she doesn't need those anyway if she's at school, it's a different case with my nephews and niece, they always play games on their phones.
Please buy her a phone at least she just went to sleep. I got scolded for playing with my classmates before my class session starts and scolded back in college for not answering her phone one night because of my thesis.

I understand the panic a mother feels when something like this happens.
It is so hard to be angry, but at the same time you want to let them know how it made you feel.
WOW, what a scary thing to happen!
