House of Cards is a Netflix series, depicting the United States government in different situations. We see different politicians fighting their way to the top (presidency), doing whatever it takes to get exactly what they want. This series is led by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. I started watching this out of boredom one night. Let me say that I'm not a political junkie by any means. But I've always liked Kevin Spacey as an actor and I've heard a lot about this series. I've been binge-watching the first season (and so far, ONLY the first season, so please don't spoil anything for me if you've been watching). I don't like a lot of what's being depicted, but I can't seem to stop watching. It's worse than a soap opera! lol Kevin Spacey's character is despicable, to say the least. Because he's drawn such a huge distaste from me proves that he's a good actor. Robin Wright has brought out similar feelings from me. Proves that the way these two operate is not anything to which I would aspire. But I do know that there are people just like them in the world and that's why we have the problems of war and hate. It's an interesting look at politics and what might go on in Washington. I'd like to think that things there aren't as bad as this series would lead us to believe, but who knows. Do we ever really know what goes on behind closed doors? -Claudia-

I started watching the series a year ago. I didn't watch a lot of it, but yes, I like the series. I'll get back to it. I haven't finished the first season yet. I do know it's gotten a lot of awards. What I like about it is the realistic look at Washington politics.

Well, I hope it's not too realistic! Some of the things I'm seeing on that show make me cringe. But wow, I just can't stop watching. It's like watching a horrific plane crash. ugh.

@CRK109 I had to take a step back from it because it was too much. But it is definitely one I will finish watching.

That's pretty much how I began watching it. I had an evening with nothing to do, and I have Netflix so I started with the first episode and I can't stop watching it now. It's very different from anything I've seen before.

I have seen it and think it is excellent. However, I would not have bothered watching if my son had not. However, I think it is very well acted and gripping entertainment. No, we do not ever know what really goes on.

i heard it is quite good and some people say it is as good as Breaking Bad. I have not seen it yet, but might give it a go.

We love that show and realize it's pure fiction. Great acting by fine actors. I'm sure there is evil all over the place, not just in the White House. My daughter-in-law worked in the Clinton White House. She was there during the Monica Lewinsky fiasco.

I'm sure your daughter-in-law saw and heard a lot. I used to work for the Catholic Church, and I saw and heard a lot there, too. When I began watching this show, I never expected to see the atrocities it's depicting.
