Right now I feel like stepping out of my comfort zone since I'll be moving to California on September and leave my family here in the Philippines. At first glance, it'll seem like the wrong decision but if you'll look at it at a different angle you'll see that my decision is a good one. Here I make what something like $4000 annual (since I'm a fresh grad and I'm in an entry level position.) When I go there I'll make $68000 annual based from my aunt who is already there and is now helping me process papers so I can work for her IT Consulting firm that she built 3 years ago. I know it's gonna be a sad journey at first but I'll get back to visit my home country from time to time. I need to make money for my future and for my family. Literally I'm in tears while writing this but I do hope that I'll get used to it as soon as possible. I'll get an associate degree at Las Positas College so I can have a working visa then maybe finish it off with a Bachelor's Degree if I make it to Berkeley (I hope I will). Goodluck to me.

It is really difficult to leave the home country. But money is everything these days. And indeed it is the root of evil. Every situation in life needs money. Money plays a vital part in life. For the money, we peeps travel to good earning places letting our heart go down by leaving our own place. It is sad but truth, we do like anything (not the crime though) for money. It is true, money attracts money.

I like that, money attracts money. That sounds good to me. Thanks for cheering me up a bit even when I'm still a bit lonely right now @adelevans

Wow that is awesome! Even though you are leaving your family behind, you are looking for your future and to support your family too! They will be proud!

It will make them proud. And we do have many social tools to be in touch with them. Its not like in past like writing a letter and waiting months for a single reply.

I graduated at Letran and yet I couldn't even passed the Immigration for apply for a house cleaning job at Peppermill. I'd say it's time to tough enough and GO FOR IT! Be happy and have courage because this is a new beginning for you and will learn a lot of ropes from other people there. You'll get used to it don't worry, though it may take time. You're a lucky person that you made it. Have a Nice day
