Random Word Post – Fenian

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “Fenian – noun, A member of an Irish society formed in New York in the mid-19th century to seek independence for Ireland. adjective, Of the Fenians. From the Irish Fiann, a legendary Irish warrior.” I didn’t plan that. I was just flipping through the dictionary looking for any old word when I came across Fenian. And I thought, Hey, everyone is … Fenian on St. Patrick’s Day.

There is a song called The Bold Fenian Men. I was glad to see this discussion. Freedom for Ireland was won in the Republic of Ireland, but sadly still to this day, not the North. Yes good luck I guess that you found it on St Patricks Day friend. Here it is My Mother sang it to us as children.
Very goos song about the Fenians.
