Thinking about a painting party for my daughters 12th birthday

When my daughter was little we did her birthday parties at home out in our back yard. It was a lot of fun but the weather was pretty unpredictable in May. The past few years we have been doing them at the YMCA. The kids got to swim for an hour and the other hour they could open presents and eat. It was always a hit. At 12 years old though certain times of the month girls wouldn't be able to swim.. if you understand that without me spelling it all out. So we are trying to think of another theme. My daughter had thought of going roller skating but has changed her mind. For adults they have wine and painting parties for about $30 a person. That would be too costly but was thinking maybe there is something like that lower cost for kids parties. Maybe I could even buy the canvases and paint and do one at home and they could paint whatever they want.

I think that sounds like fun especially with lots of them all doing it at once!

I don't know what a young girl would like to do now days but maybe something at a restaurant.

12 is an interesting age. Not quite teens but no longer children. I think the girls might like it. How about a jewelry making party or take them all horseback riding, though that could be a little pricey too. Good luck finding the perfect theme.

That is a great idea! It is less expensive and kids get to paint whatever they want! It would be a good activity to test their creativity and at the same time they get to have some fun.
