My daughter and I just finally finished reading the Harry Potter book series. We were reading the last book (7) called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We just finished it. I am so glad to be done yet so bummed we won't have any more to read. These books were awesome. I thought for sure that Harry Potter was going to die. I loved the ending! My prediction is that if there was a sequel it will be Draco Malfoys son finding the Resurrection Stone and somehow bringing Voldemort back to life.

I loved reading the books. I was kind of sad when I finished reading the last book. I was sad that it was over. I have been thinking of re-reading the books.

I do not like reading books more then once. I loved this series and so it sucks that there is no more to read. I asked my daughter what we will read next and she showed me a magic kitten book or something like that. That will not be nearly as fun for me but I love reading with my kids no matter what it is.

@Marty1 I'm sad too when I finish a book. I'll definitely try to re-read them.

Tales of beetle the bard book
Yes my daughter and I loved all.of the books in the series. I wish they hadn't ended I enjoyed reading them so much. I found a book by J.K.Rowling called "Tales of Beetle the Bard". This was mentioned a few times in the last Harry Potter book so I was excited when I found it at the library for my daughter and I to read. It is a very short book and I am bored by it.

I have never read any of the books and have been content to watch the films instead. The one that I have not yet seen is the deathly hallows, of which I have part one on DVD but not part two.

I have only watched the first 5 movies. The other 3 I need to watch. In the first movie and the first book they were both almost exact with what happened. As the movies continued though they got more different. I prefer the books. The movies got to creepy for my children.

I read thesr years ago but I also loved them. They have really good and imaginativr story lines and they just make you feel good! So I do not remember any ressurection stone - or did you create that? Lol. Have you read any other books by JK Rowling? She has a pseudonym as Robert Galbraith and I read one of those - a crime novel- and I was disappointed. It was kind of boring!

The resurrection stone was in the last story. It had to do with the Deathly Hallows. The plots in these stories amaze me. I can't even imagine how they were able to come up with so many different ideas. They were great they kept me interested and wanting to know what happened next. I actually never even thought to see if the author wrote any other books. Your the second person on this post to mention that. I will have to look into it.

I couldn't get into the books. I tried reading one of them but was not keen on it.

@gudheart @Marty1 I never would have started reading them if my children hadn't wanted to. The first few books were in the younger kids section the others were in the junior fiction. I guess because they get longer and dark topics halfway through the series. The movies got to scary for my children to watch. I want to finish watching the last few movies by myself.

I don't know if you remember any of the Hogwarts textbooks, but there's one, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", which is being made into a movie, and will hit the big screen in November. As for a sequel, there's "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" which is a London-based stage performance, someone wrote the script... JK Rowling made it into a book, set to hit book shelves July 31st. It's supposed to be about his son, Albus' Hogwarts experience.

I think the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book is still in play form though. I hate reading plays. I do wonder how the plot will go. I think J.K. Rowling was so amazing with her writing I don't really think I would like work written by another author/scriptwriter. My daughter and I just finished reading Fantastic Beasts and where to find them two nights ago. I was bored by it but she liked it. I would be interested in watching the movie though. I wish there was more illustrations in the book.
