Bradford Pear Photo

I love Bradford Pear trees when they are in bloom. Some people see them as junk trees because they have a weak trunk system and break often and they emit a bit of a pungent odor though I don't mind it. They are ornamental trees and are considered invasive in some parts of the country. The wood from them is prized for making woodwind instruments. It has a very fine texture. The blooms are white and look wonderful with the Carolina blue skies as backdrop so I thought I would share the photo I took with you all.

Wind does damage these trees quickly.

This is the first home in TN we didn't have one of them. And every one we ever had did have branches missing from the wind. They are all in full bloom here and many have already turned green. First to bloom, last to die in winter.

The branches do get torn easily from them. Yes they are the last to die too.

@suziecat7 I would love to have one here, but it's so windy I would be afraid it would be destroyed too soon.

You are lucky if you already see trees blossoming.

I'll have to go check where you live but it's still cold, I'm guessing. Soon your trees will bloom too.

This is certainly a lovely photo. We have ornamental fruit trees too which have wonderful displays of flowers.
