What's it like to live with a llama?

Anybody here have first hand day to day knowledge about llamas?
I just ran into an ad. White llama gal going for fifty smackers. Our Peter burro could use a pasture pal so I asked and so far am left wondering.
I asked: what does she eat? Answer: hay. Translate that into cash out of my pocket. Llama won't eat weeds that grow here? Do not have answer on that.
I asked: is she halter broke? Answer: she wears a dog collar and when she is on a rope she is pretty friendly.
Not sure about hoove trimming either. Much to ponder. Llamas spit is what I hear. Do they quickly bite or kick? They look pretty tall from my perspective.
I'm all ears!
