I have seen lots of people who cry when see some emotional scene in a movie/serial.
One such example is my wife. Yesterday we were watching a movie and my wife suddenly started crying as the scene was touchy. My daughter saw her tears coming out she quietly told me to look at her mother and when I looked at her she quickly whipped her tears.
It was strange as few people get so involved in the drama that instead of enjoying it they take it on their heart.
I am not such type I don't take emotional scene that much seriously .
What about you guys?

Uh-oh... guilty as charged I belong to the group of people who easily gets affected with tear-jerker movies. But I do try to hide the tears from my husband because he makes a joke about it.

I don't think that people who cry while watching touching shows are "taking a show too seriously" or "too involved in something that is unreal". They are just empathetic and moved by whatever the characters are portraying. Empathy is a beautiful trait to have and what makes us human.
