It was mailed on the 29th of February and much anticipated! I love it! The photo is awesome of the great animals that live nearby and I combined the photo with the back where @Inlemay has purchased many stamps showing the beautiful beading that is done. The two animals not shown are a water buffalo and a rhino. Is this just the perfect first card ever to be received from Africa? Photos are by Gerald Hoberman.
What a treasure! Many thanks and the anticipation was worth the wait! It was very exciting to open my mailbox and find it, all alone with the two frogs who live there. I did not receive any other mail . No frogs were harmed in retrieving the postcard!
I belong to Postcrossings dot com but do private swaps as well. If anyone else would like to swap a postcard, just send me a message!

It has been for me, even the three week wait. Anticipation is always fun.

That is a very colourful and attractive postcard, so I am not surprised that5 you are happy about it.
Of course I am becoming very concerned about that poor mail camel that has to keep trudging across the desert carrying postcards to and from Lany's house. Of course 3 weeks is a long time, so maybe the camel is having a break and they are relying on good old Snail Mail again.
Does the South Africa Post Office still have any snails?

I think the camel stopped at the oasis for a little vacation before continuing on.

@Jeanniemaries Lazy camel, does it not have any consideration for the people waiting for their mail?

@youless I love the stamps on postcards almost as much as the card itself. Of course the message is the best part.

I think they depict South Africa where she is from and not Egypt which is at the top of the continent.

I really am not a collector, I just like fun mail, but I do save the cards. All the people that I exchange with on Postcrossings I do not know personally, they give me a name to send one and when that person receives their card from me they give my name to a completely different person to send me a card. But I do know some of the people, like the people from here that I exchanged with and I have a cousin right now in Europe traveling in several countries that will send me cards. I've received maybe six or seven in the last two months. But I have three more on the way from postcrossings.

The postcards look really nice, and I like the stamps as well. I wonder what crafts are those in the stamps.
It seems interesting to swap postcards. I need to put this in my to-do list, perhaps it'll be a good activity for my children when they are a bit older.

@Jeanniemaries That even makes the activity more meaningful, as we get to learn more about the other countries and their life as well.
The beading craft is really amazing! I only used beads to make simple bracelets together with my children. There are so many types of handcrafts!

The craft is beading. They are using colorful beads to draw pictures with. I think it would be a good activity because each person puts a little bio on their profile page and so you learn a little about their country and their life.

@Jeanniemaries Do the Elvis stamps not come loose due to all that rocking and rolling?

I know! I had to combine them because the stamps are a big part of the fun of getting mail. I never buy the ordinary everyday stamps. I like to choose specialty stamps. I just bought a sheet of Elvis stamps!

Yes, I did. I have it standing on an easel near my chair to enjoy. I like to put interesting stamps on them and you really chose some wonderful ones.

No wonder you were excited to receive this. It is a lovely card. Glad you didn't have to harm the frogs. For some time over one winter there would always be a frog in one rubber boot (wellington). He came close to being harmed once or twice!

@Jeanniemaries I think it would be nice to have occupants in a mailbox - not so keen on them in wellington boots though.

It's been pouring rain all evening and I think that the frogs are enjoying the moisture! My mailbox is shaped like a little house and it amuses me to know it's occupied!

Yes, I learned a lot about Africa at Disney World of all places! The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fountain of information with the large animals that roam around an enclosed area right up to the Lodge windows.

I know that several others here are doing this also and while it sounds like fun, it's not something I'm interested in at present. It's nice to see the cards though.
